Atom User Reviews for The Happytime Murders
Amazing. Anyone upset that they can’t take their kids should’ve read the title and watched the trailer.
Worst movie I’ve ever seen
seriously one of the most imaginative comedies in decades. i laughed so much harder than deadpool. this movie needs a sequel.
not vwry funny. its like they went out of their way to make it raunchy.
Well done
Walked out. Was not funny or interesting at all!
What's not to love, great time at the movies!!!
Must see for adults only. Melissa is funny and a great actress.
The movie was hilarious. It's mindless fun. It was money well spent. I'd see it again if I had the time. I'm definitely getting the digital HD release.
Disgusting. If you’re going DO NOT take your family.
It wasn’t as funny as i thought it was, but overall it was okay
Funny, raunchy and kinda sweet!
Hilarious movie!
Every 5 to 10 minutes was a laugh
Pretty fun to watch, Kinda off the wall but I enjoyed it for that
So creative and funny but dont bring your kids.
I was really bored, and all the funny bits were in the trailer.
Great movie. Jim Henson would have loved it.
Great movie, give that cow a Emmy
#NoJudgement All kids mature differently, with that being said I took my 10yr old to see it and we laughed like hell- it was actually his choice for what he wanted to do for his birthday.
felt like they were trying to hard with the jokes. it was funny but not the funniest
So...um...that happened. It's a great concept but poorly, poorly executed. The script relies on vulgar dialogue and sex jokes. Some moments were truly funny but most of it was just...not. Not a family friendly flick AT ALL. The visual effects are cool, I mean how they filmed an entire movie with talking puppets as practical effects is cool, but don't watch it for the cool practical effects. If you're into that, go watch the Muppets. They're much cleaner. Some things I will never be able to unsee.
funny as heck lmao
garbage. almosy fell asleep
loved every minute of it. Hope they make a sequel
If I could give this no stars, I would. Waste of time and money.
Not so bad for a muppets movie. Good job with the drama and special effects but just not there to watch on the movie theaters.
The movie was ok, had a few laughs but not as many as I thought it would given the cast of comedians. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were drinking.
Pretty good movie definitely not for kids. Get a sitter, drop the kids with the gparents, or let your kids go to a sleepover. This film is not for them it's for you adults! Melissa McCarthy is a treasure and Maya Rudolph is fanastic!
My wife and I went to see this and we enjoyed it. We laughed many times throughout the movie. Not for kids but great for the kid at heart with a dirty mind.
hilarious!!! must see if you like adult humor!!
Funny,...funny,...funny...
A little out there, but both funny and disgusting. The crew definitely had fun with the making of this and it shows. lol
I didnt think it was funny at all really, I mean a couple chuckles but I wanted laughter.
pretty funny and some of the scenes are down right shocking. kind of like sausage party.
It was pretty funny. A few slow moments, but still worth going. Definitely need to keep kids at home though.
#Horrible
they had some gunny lines and scenes but i would wait for it to come out on dvd or redbox
movie was funny as hell. laughed like mad crazy throughout the entire film

Part of me wasn't expecting such a plot!
Not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine!!
Keep em coming Melissa! Entertaining in one way or the other from beginning to end. Either it was a genuinely lol moment or a "omg they must have had a blast making this" chuckle moment. Either way, I had many laughs during this film & I'll definitely rewatch every so often. Not quite the caliber hilarity as a Game Night or Tag, but pretty close!
Loved it - forget what the "critics" say. pure entertainment, laughed through the entire movie. Thanks Henson!!!
Was good if you grew up watching muppets
Matinee worthy...I give it a B.
Best Muppet movie ever!!!
Not as funny as I thought it would be. The funniest parts were in the movie trailer.
Funny and absurd film. Definitely not for kids.
Taking it to the street, not Sesame Street
Metacritic
It’s the execution that lets this dog down. Not enough funny lines and even the cheap, dirty laughs are in short supply.
It’d be an intriguing premise — if, again, it weren’t so nearly identical to Roger Rabbit, right down to the inevitable frame job. Also, if The Happytime Murders had taken a few more cues from that film and focused less on the rote whodunit and more on the funhouse-mirror L.A. where it takes place.
Stuffed full of rampant badness, the scattershot comedy isn’t nearly as clever or subversive as it thinks it is.
