Synopsis
Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of The Godfather: Part III, director/screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola brings a definitive new edit and restoration of the final film in his epic Godfather trilogy—Mario Puzo’s THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), now in his 60s, seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire. That successor could be fiery Vincent (Andy Garcia)... but he may also be the spark that turns Michael's hope of business legitimacy into an inferno of mob violence. The film’s meticulously restored picture and sound, under the supervision of American Zoetrope and Paramount Pictures, includes a new beginning and ending, as well as changes to scenes, shots, and music cues. The resulting project reflects author Mario Puzo and Coppola’s original intentions of The Godfather: Part III, and delivers, in the words of Coppola, “a more appropriate conclusion to The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II.”’

It's like watching DaVinci piss over the Mona Lisa really.
DirkHAug 27, 2020trying not to think about the fact that the director just happened to cast his own daughter in a role with an incest subplot
liam fJun 15, 2020Oh come on, people. It's a good movie.

truJun 29, 2020Look, I won't argue that there's a lot going on here the previous ones didn't already do better with regard to the violent corruption of capitalism, the sins of the father punishing the rest of the family, mob life as Shakespearean tragedy, etc. but idk Coppola still has…
Josh LewisJan 24, 2016There should be a GODFATHER PART IV but BACK TO THE FUTURE II style with old Vincent going back in time to help young Vincent during the events of GODFATHER PART II.

Recogido dislikedThe Godfather Part IIIyou’re literally cousins
Ira lovedThe Godfather Part IIIBest line - just when I thought I was out they reel me back in. Gf 1 and2 are classics. This was only very good.
Levi Braamskamp likedThe Godfather Part IIISo the director just cast his own daughter for a role with a incest subplot….. wtf!
- Sabrina Bondi lovedThe Godfather Part III
The movie, a heady thicket of political intrigue and double crosses, is slower, talkier, and more prosaic than the first two films, and its narrative seams sometimes show. And yet it's more than the sum of its mazelike convolutions.
Lisa lovedThe Godfather Part IIINot a comparison to 1 or 2, but much respect. The nepotism for Sophia was a hard wall to break through...at first.... As a Sicilian female, no matter how hot a cousin like Andy Garcia is...not happening in the 20th century!!
Ernie Vacca is "meh" onThe Godfather Part IIII thought that it was too weird that Michael’s daughter and Sonny’s son were seeing each other. Premise of the movie was very good though
- Tio Sousa lovedThe Godfather Part III
In the end he was alone
Stefan is "meh" onThe Godfather Part IIIFelt like a sad imitation of the first two, and completely unnecessary. A meandering story with too many old italian dudes, and poor acting (looking at you sophia). The Corleone story had concluded perfectly at the end of the second movie, and was revived solely for the sake of profit in the third.
BENNY likedThe Godfather Part III7.5/10 The Godfather Part III is a solid conclusion to the legendary trilogy, even if it doesn’t reach the masterpiece status of the first two films. Al Pacino delivers a powerful performance as Michael Corleone portraying a man haunted by his past while trying to redeem himself

In this brilliantly sustained climax, Coppola unveils a vision of corruption that embraces the entire world, but he's also reveling in sheer theatrical magic in a way that only a master can.

It's hard to tell if this thing's serious or parody and, if it is parody, whether or not it's intentional. Is it a winky joke, for instance, to have lightweight performer George Hamilton as Pacino's business attorney, or just ridiculous casting? Hamilton's performance points to the latter.
Desson Thomson
Washington Post
The main performances are generally weak, although the smaller ones are sometimes brilliant, and the yarn never builds much momentum as it leapfrogs from one subplot to another. [28 Dec 1990, Arts, p.14]
