Save your money. Very predictable. Nothing original at all. Coming from a moviegoer.
After reading many reviews, I believe those who were offended by the movie have a guilty conscience. Let’s be honest, if this were to happen... this is exactly what would happen. Pay attention outside your comfort zone and you’ll see the reality in which we live in.
Great flick, dealing with current and recurring issues in our country.

this movie went on the topic of racial tension in the U.S, how divided our supposed melting pot country is in reality. Somewhat predictable but still heart felt and real! Loved it !!
We enjoyed the movie. It so closely resembled the society we live in today and it's sad. It makes a good point in the typical "purge" fashion. Now we know how it all started.

I'm a huge fan of the Purge series and I knew this one wouldn't disappoint! The cast was great and the concept for this film was based on how the purge was originally created. The film just like the others kept me on the edge of my seat!

The First Purge becomes a call to arms so to speak (sometimes to its detriment) — a reminder that we must stand up and for each other at the voting booths and in our communities now so we won’t need the civil war of Election Year.
It’s not difficult to decipher where McMurray and DeMonaco’s true allegiances are, but by delivering the story within the framework of genre cinema at its most trashy and garish, the filmmakers convey any message as a bit of rough pleasure amid the kicks and thrills of a movie.
