Mixing the supernatural horror of the original Exorcist with the pacing and structure of a thriller creates a suspenseful and frightening movie. Although it occasionally tries too hard to live up to the original’s huge legacy (not that I blame it).

I feel like this was made to keep the rights. You had a pretty decent cops vs murderer movie with supernatural ties. They did a good job tying it into the exorcist but you really didn’t need to. That being said it was enjoyable for what it was. Exorcist sequel barely.
