Atom User Reviews for The Edge of Seventeen
One of the most real depictions of what depression and anxiety can do to someone while not being sappy. Truly great, funny, lovely film.
I didn't like the movie because it was extremely depressing and it made me really angry. I didn't like what Nadine's friend did, that was extremely messed up and beyond betrayal. This is the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. The only thing I loved was that Nadine and Erwin got together at the end. Especially that big moment when she smiled when she was right next to him. I felt a connection, it wasn't very relateable, but there was a emotional connection. Overall I hated the movie. But I love the character Nadine!
it has become one of my favorite movies. Greatest movie I've seen in theaters in a while. loved it
Great movie!!! Definitely would watch again!
An excellent, awkward, funny adventure!
The Edge of Seventeen is one of the most relatable and brutally realistic portrayal of this situations ever made. I absolutely adored this film!
Loved every minute.
It's cute
I thought it was gonna be great, but it was just okay.
Well dine and acted. Enough humor and tearful drama to thoroughly entertain.
Very true to Life.....Will hit home with all adolescents
One of those rare simple but interesting and fun movies that makes you enjoy cinematography.
Worth watching. The perfect entertainer.
Definitely not as funny as the preview suggests
It was an amazing film that any young person can relate to the characters. It truly tells the awkwardness and hardships of fitting in and making friends as well as losing friends that all teenagers go through.
Loved everything about it!
i think everyone watching learns a little about themselves
This was honestly one of the best movies I have seen this year. It described the life of a depressed teenager perfectly. I felt Nadine was the female version of myself. lol
Definitely not the movie I was expecting! Such a great film from beginning to end. Some parts were a little predictable but it's not a story you've seen before!
A must watch!
Sure, I got some laughs out of it. However, at times, it was crigne worthy awkward and seems like the main actress was over acting a bit. It was good, just not fantastic or anything. Also, there were some major development plot holes that made the movie and overall plot fall flat. Had they put a little more effort into thickening the plot, the movie may have filled out a little. It's a lazy weekend kind of movie, other than that, it's missable.
this was such a great movie. would recommend to everyone!
loved it, Hailey steinfeld is a gem.
We loved it
Great acting
Metacritic
At a time when judgment and self-righteousness outrank forgiveness and empathy, Nadine is the heroine we need.
Steinfeld’s performance and the script from Kelly Fremon Craig have created a young woman who feels entirely familiar, while never feeling like a retread of the other teenagers who have walked the cinematic high school halls before her.
The scenes that work just make me ache for more of them, signaling that if Craig finds her groove, she’ll be a force to reckon with.
