First movie to properly use the nemesis system since Warner bros patented it
FramesofnickJun 15, 2026I’ve now seen this movie three times! First as a rough cut a year ago, then a fine cut a few months ago and tonight the final cut projected on 35mm film. It’s come to mean a great deal to me. Firstly, this film is gorgeous. Far and away Michael Sarnoski’s prettiest film…

"this ain't your grandpa's Robin hood"
𝐉Jun 20, 2026There's nothing particularly wrong with this film, it just seems to continually repeat the same concepts, progressively reducing the pace and spectacularity with which it tells its story. If you completely connect with the character, it can even be a cathartic experience;…
JackFollaJun 18, 2026The Death of Robin Hood feels like a film standing on the edge of something fascinating without ever fully committing to it. A bleak deconstruction of a beloved myth, it follows a broken man confronting the violence of his past, but its contemplative mood ultimately…

The inevitable massive commercial failure of this very unusual and almost defiantly unappealing movie will ensure it has shooters in the future; please note that, with a few reservations, I am already one. Gnarliest action violence in a studio movie in some time and one…
Adam NaymanJun 23, 2026I will allow an ultra-grim & grounded take on something I would rather be fun and colorful if it is good enough and thankfully this is good enough

7.3/10 A reverse slow burn: The climax happened at the beginning of the movie and we see a rejection of the traditional Robin Hood story in place of a much darker one. The violence was brutal and the themes were intense. Not really an action adventure although that’s kinda how it begins. More of a…
If anyone’s interested in this film because they think it’s action driven then I’m here to tell you it is not some grand action film with Robin Hood saving innocent people left and right. Sure the film has action in it at the start of the film but after that it gets more deep and meaningful. It…

6.4 - I am shocked by how much I didn’t like this. It felt like what my friends who don’t like “A24” (aka artistic & thoughtful) movies stereotypically think every A24 movie is like. I by no means expected this to be a complete action-fest, but I was sadly surprised by how absolutely boring it was…
A dark story about a tired man finding some semblance of inner reconciliation with his past life, and his absolution in death. It was a very good movie. Some people have compared it to the movie Logan, and I can see where they are coming from. If you want an action movie, then you have come to the…
The beginning grabs you so fast and then there's a lot of spoken exposition and a huge pacing shift that ultimately leaves you feeling like you just got bait and switched. Nothing bugs me more than shifts in pacing and spoken exposition when the audience would rather see it. 5/10

Incredible writing, performances, and cinematography. The movie doesn’t pull any punches with the violence and Jackman gives one of the best performances of his career. Every scene was shot with incredible intent. Probably the best looking film I’ve seen since Nosferatu 9/10
8/10 This movie was slow from the half way point to the finish. But it was so well written I didn’t care. I think what knocks this a bit for me is the ending. I thought it was great but could’ve been way better if a specific action scene would’ve occurred. Very solid film.
Actually really enjoyed it. Story was heavy and very dialogue driven so it felt slow in the 2nd half. A few good action scenes in the beginning. Sound was kinda tough to catch though. But I loved the internal battles for Robin. Very deep and poetic ending, I loved it. 8/10
