I've never seen Robert Wise's fifties original and that may be why this film didn't anger me as much as it seemed to enrage everyone else. I've seen countless poor reviews for this one, but they do seem overly-harsh as this is hardly a half-star movie in my humble opinion.…

i would totally believe keanu to be an alien because he’s too perfect and powerful to be a human.

Casting Keanu Reeves as a wooden, emotionless, expressionless, dull sounding alien... Genius. What a big waste of time this film was. It's groan-worthy in its story development. I'm not wasting any more words on this. Avoid.

Had vague memories of seeing this one in theaters but as expected there wasn't much to remember. Changing out the cold war atomic anxieties of the original film for environmental ones is not a bad idea but sorry not enough 7-foot-tall men in goofy space suits being friendly…

6.8/10 although it’s 15 years old now this movie hold up well. Young Keanu does a great job at portraying a mysterious stoic character without being annoying. The storyline is unique and well paced without long lulls or any rushing. It’s a breath of fresh air in todays cinema.

Remake film, outstanding story about how fragile our world is, think about it. Non stopping action & Sci-fi!! A film well made, with a clear strong message & one of hope, compliments to Keanu Reeves & Jennifer Connelly!!

The military show of force against the clearly superior is laughable and stupid. A woman with a child is always endearing. Don't believe we’ll ever truly change, if only I could!

8.9/10 tanta roba, non capivo il concetto con la quale un extraterrestre potesse parlare la lingua umana ma per fortuna l’hanno spiegata bene questa cosa. Ottima trama e plot.

it's a decent remake of the original. the cgi scenes are the best parts. it's not the best movie ever made but it's still good.

The original Day the Earth Stood Still had a paranoid poetry that lifted the audience up even as it warned the world to come together. This one is so dour it just comes off as a scolding.
