I like movies where there are a lot of dogs running around and they're supposed to be all menacing and fierce but you can tell they're all good boys having a fun day on the big misty woods set.
bombsfallJul 8, 2018This is one beautiful and incredibly surreal movie. It’s an anthology of sorts, but maybe the least traditional anthology format I can think of. There is an opening bookend story and then a closing bookend story that is different yet also tied to the opening and it all kind…
Tony the TerrorApr 3, 2023definitely one of the best retellings of red riding hood that i have ever seen. watching this felt like a beautifully dark and atmospheric dream. i mean, that cinematography is stunning! sarah patterson is superb, and those practical effects were cool as hell too. the very…

A fantasy horror anthology that explores Rosaleen’s sexual awakening and the machinations of those wolves that would seek to exploit her innocence. There’s a lot of plot in here with two framing segments and four individual stories, but not unlike the folkloric tales…
RaventombSep 6, 2014Imagine Little Red Riding Hood if it was written by Sigmund Freud and directed by David Lynch and you have a pretty good idea of what this movie is.

Not sure I like hearing English people going on and on about how men "with eyebrows that meet in the middle" are wicked creatures of the devil. Feels... loaded. Some of us just have Mediterranean grandparents.
Branson ReeseNov 9, 2023great if you love cute puppies, ingeniously twisted practical effects, and horny fairy tales
Nea Ching(y)Oct 11, 2018Fantasy setting, extravagant transformation scenes, bright colors draped in shadow, and fairytale atmosphere combine to make this heavy-handed sexual metaphor much more interesting. The metaphor is very upfront--coming of age mixed with sexual predation--but still gets…

Fever dream. Beautiful dark fantasy vibe and astonishing practical effects - silly but also creepy. Interesting twist on the little red riding hood, BUT - the actress was only 12 when it was made and so was the character as I know - so that made some scenes unpleasant to watch 👀
Very 80s, very fun. Like a spookier The Princess Bride, as it does a story-ception type deal. Great acting, nice soundtrack, beautiful sets, interesting script, and really sick werewolf transformation sequences. There is a severe lack of fantasy horror like this.

Decent werewolf movie. I like how it has more fantasy elements to it compared to other werewolf horror movies. The acting is nothing crazy. Crazy funny death scene near the end.
angela lansburry getting decapitated by a werewolf and having her head shatter into porcelain - absolutely insane
