•lily•Oct 3, 2014The success of Robert Wiene's "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" is celebrated in every film made since 1920 that has borrowed the film's look, style, or tone. From Murnau's "Nosferatu" and the American noir of the 1940s, to contemporary horror films and every piece of work…

I was really confused the entire time. Had to get someone to explain it to me. But it wasnt THATTT bad. Very creative for the 20s in my opinion. 5/10
9.5/10 One of the best films ever made, a classic for film buffs and goths alike. Conrad Veidt is an icon before his time, Francis and Alan are probably the first account of “bury your gays” 😭 but I still adored every moment of this film.

There's not a whole lot you can say about a film like this that hasn't been said a million times by a million people. 9/10

Obviously to today’s standards the over acting is a bit ridiculous but it’s actually a really enjoyable movie. Francis being crazy i didn’t see coming so they managed to pull one over on me ig. The only thing is I hate endings where it’s like “everything was fake!” Kinda ruins it
A really stunning film but I was totally lost towards the end when I couldn't read the letters that seemed integral to the plot. maybe it was just the version I saw that was poorer quality but it definitely made it harder to like it as much as I could have
Yes i came here after Nick Cage said it was his top 3 movies ever in UWOMT. It is exactly as youd expect a black and white silent german film would be. One you need to really just watch and see the story vs listening and reacting. Not for everyone
