Well that was… Bizarre.😵💫 Still undecided if this was a surreal masterpiece👌🏻or just really stupid but it was deeply unsettling😰. Like a waking nightmare💭. Certainly kept be intrigued the entire runtime. This movie deserves more attention👀. I need to discuss the…
Jade talks too much🎅🏻🎄Aug 29, 2019keeps appending increasingly baroque moving parts to what was already a fairly complex narrative machine until we feel almost as suffocated as the characters themselves, and ends up as a very moving aestheticization of the violence inflicted in service of maintaining the…

thought this would be a more philosophical, talky picture about the ethics of pushing the Big Red Button that gives you money but kills a stranger. will not spoil what’s in The BoOoOoOox but let’s just say the answer stretches beyond what the human mind is capable of…
mia lee vicinoJan 27, 2013I absolutely love the Twilight Zone. It is a show appealing to the imagination, with episodes ranging from the bizarre to the terrifying. It had the occasional stinker, but the overall quality used to fit my overactive imagination to a tee. I also love Richard Matheson…

- Projecting Film is "meh" onThe Box
I sometimes find myself feeling sorry for James Marsden. Not the character he plays here but James Marsden. And I don’t know why.
URMOM likedThe BoxI did enjoy this movie however I found it lackluster because of the predictability. I like films that go full circle as this one did however I much prefer not realizing that will happen in the opening sequences. Also will note that it’s not rewatchable. Once you’ve seen it, done.
Sidney Thomas dislikedThe BoxSuper confusing, hard to follow and not really a “thriller” more of a physiological mystery/drama. I think the actors in the movie are normally pretty good but Cameron Diaz/James Marsden both have better movies to watch.

An artistic fiasco that cuts across genre lines and all logic to become, perhaps, an instant midnight movie.

The Box is a mess, but it's a curiously haunting, intriguing, brain-tickling mess, and it delivers that Donnie Darko feeling in truckloads. Or should that be rocketloads?
