The blob kills a date rapist and someone talking during a movie. This is the most satisfying movie of all time.
AWSOct 21, 2022I love the way this movie sets up a number of characters like the HS football player, the stern but kindly sheriff and the waitress he asks on a date, who you think are going to be major characters, with their little character beats and romantic aspirations only to do a…
Will MenakerDec 24, 2019I really loved this film back in the day. So much so that I wrote a letter to Fangoria and to my surprise... they published it! A few months later, I received a signed copy of the screenplay by "Partners in Slime" Frank Darbont and Chuck Russell. I still have it. I think…

KarstenApr 13, 202087 Perfect quarantine viewing. Fearful of the U.S. government more than the blob itself. The creature-effects are some of the greatest in the history of the medium. Also, a precursor to Twin Peaks' brand of wacky, lovable, suspicious nostalgia.
SilentDawnOct 8, 2022Tired (1958): what if the blob absorbed people? Wired (1988): but what if the blob also melted people?

1988’s The Blob shows no mercy towards victim choice, wiping out a slew of scummy people to boot all while showcasing some of the genre’s best (repulsive chunk gloop!) effects work of the 1980’s. Quick paced, loaded with a cast of familiars, that diner scene (the drain!!!!…
Ian Westyou put me and the blob in a room only one of us crawlin out alive
pd187Aug 6, 2020Deserves to mentioned in the pantheon of Carpenter's 'The Thing', Cronenberg's 'The Fly', Kaufman's 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers', and YES Snyder's 'Dawn of the Dead', as one of the greatest horror remakes of all time. Some truly impressive gore effects and an admirable…

Pretty solid movie. Went in blind except for the fact I knew the practical effects would be good, and god were they. The first few kills were great and nasty is all the best ways but as the Blob gets bigger the kills become people just getting swallowed, which is fine.
This one might be the first remake that’s better than the OG.❗️ALERT ALERT THE BLOB NO.1 SERIAL KILLER ON THE LOOSE❗️Respect for the Blob to kill that one annoying guy who’s talking in the movies “Are you strung out on something, or what?”

Watched this as a follow up to 'The Stuff.' Excepted it to be terrible but this might be a new Halloween fav. The practical effects starting at the beginning of the film were the best and mkst scary thing I've ever seen. Also so many perfectly cheesy 80s lines!
This film is iconic, even though I don’t tend to hear of it much or see it being referenced anywhere. Great effects here and some decent performances. Overall it’s realistically just alright but it is still a super fun watch.

Tbh this is one of the first “old” movies I’ve watched in a while and it was actually pretty good. I could only imagine taking my gf out to see this Friday night 😂 even if she ends up not liking it
If you love "The Thing," I don't see why you wouldn't dig this, especially with those practical effects. Truly an underrated remake and will always be a good recommendation for a horror remake!
