Alfred Hitchcock is a genius because he knew that a thousand normal-sized birds were much scarier than one enormous bird

My dad showed me this when I was a kid and when it gets to the part where they show the woman with her eyes pecked out he went “whoops,” looked over at me and saw that I’d already seen it, and then went “oh well.”
Branson ReeseAug 14, 2023Is The Birds a genre classic that changed the way we perceive horror today? Absolutely. However, Is The Birds also a film that drove me to repeatedly check the time eight times during? Absolutely.

This DIVA! I’m obsessed, and kinda love how we’re not really given any answers… or were we? Hmmm 🐦⬛🐓🦜🦆 the audio, the green screen, the sound effects, the main character’s personally, and just the birds in general - before it’s time and the blueprint for most cinema today (us) 🦅🦃🦤

As a person who suffers from ornithophobia, this film shocked me. After watching The Birds, audiences will never look at birds in the same way ever again, which is perhaps Hitchcock's original intent.
it was good at the beginning but then it gets a bit boring, that open final it’s not my favorite, i just expected more for what i saw the first minutes of the movie

Despite some missed payoffs for rich storylines introduced early on, The Birds more than earns its legendary status, with its beautiful direction, sharp performances, and an inventive and metaphorical premise.
Jaws before the world was ready, Hitch’s much misappreciated follow-up to Psycho is arguably the greatest of all disaster films—a triumph of special effects, as well as the fountainhead of what has become known as gross-out horror.
A mysterious army of enemies, with no suggested motive and, what's worse, they're your friendly garden crows. Clamps itself to your recollection and doesn't let go.
