Atom User Reviews for The Batman
This movie had me bricked up!
Tried to stay awake 2 hours in.
That was the greatest Batman movie of ALL TIME!!!! The Best Comic book movie I have ever seen and one of the best movies I have ever seen PERIOD!! I AM literally Stunned sitting through the credits @mattreevesLA you have created a movie for the ages. INCREDIBLE. 10/10 Masterpiece! This Topped THE DARK KNIGHT Easily! This was the Batman and Gotham I’ve dreamed about and Matt Reeves is the GOAT!!! Paul Dano’s The Riddler is up there with Heath Ledgers Joker. GO SEE THIS MOVIE AND TAKE YOUR FAMILY YOU GUYS ARE IN FOR A TREAT #TheBatman
a masterpiece a true Batman film.
Don’t waste your money or more importantly your time. It was AWFUL. Felt more like a parody than anything
ZOE KRAVITZ IS SUCH A SCENE STEALER
Horrible. Did not like any of the characters, voices were grating. The Nirvana music was overly distorted. Seen them all, this is by FAR my least favorite
Not sure there is a fresh way to tell a Batman story. Visuals and acting were good. Plot--a bit boring.
The longest 3 hours . You just kept waiting for it to go somewhere and it never did. The actors were good , the story was terrible
well RP sucks as batman reminds me of spiderman 3 emo Peter. DC needs to learn to make movies for fans they just keep killing the best franchises they have. another fail from DC
Good first act. Hard to see/follow action. Boring at times. Scenes too long. Dumb “woke” nonsense we are all tired of.
great to put you to sleep
Best super hero film since Dark Knight
Just … no
I will say that this goes down as one of my favorite movies ever. In any genre. Incredible. See it for yourself.
This movie is definitely not even the top 2 batman movies. It is super long, they tried to do something different with Selina kyle which could have worked. The riddler is nothing like he should have been but maybe they are rebranding him. overall this was the worse Batman I've seen and I have seen every batman movie live action or animated
Grounded film. Very comic accurate!
Robert Pattinson really delivered with this performance and the score for this movie is some the best I’ve heard in a long time, the supporting cast did a really good job as well!
Long boring and honestly not good
Boring Batman was portrayed as a sad emo guy who is a p**** and gets his a** beat by 8 henchman. Cat woman doesn’t even have a real mask it’s like she cut a sock and put it on her head. Best character was penguin
I didn’t get to finis the movie , the fire alarm went off
Really surprised. Had a real dark gritty vibe. Almost 4 hours long but was enthralled the entire time in the mystery suspense action and intrigue.
wasn't like the old batman movies really disappointed messed up a good movie franchise
Don’t recommend this movie
Long and Slow. Not worth it. Worst batman, in my opinion.
BEST MOVIE EVER
This movie is the best i have EVER SEEN BATMAN
It was the worst movie I've ever seen in a movie theater
Very dark. Not the best in my opinion.
Don’t waste your time its very boring and long
Logan, joker, winter soldier, just another level of superhero films taking it there
The most comic book accurate Batman to date
Had potential but the sloppy storyline was not it;
Must see if your into Batman.
dark + detective story = more human batman. enjoyed the different story telling take to the recent generic " superhero movie " take. this would've been a 5 stars, had not for the DOLBY ATMOS projector audio crapping during the last 10 min or so of the movie, which made the movie watching annoying.
As Bruce Wayne he’s not doing it for me.
I can say with absolute confidence that this film is one of the best, if not the best, live-action superhero movie and by far the best live-action Batman movie to date. The movie delivers in every possible way you can imagine and more. While the story follows a complex narrative, it is easy to follow, especially if you're a casual viewer, and it perfectly captures the true essence of the dark knight we all know and love from the comics. The cast does a phenomenal job of adding depth and relatability to each of their characters while Matt Reeves does a beautiful job at creating a stunning Gotham, making the city feel alive itself. Everything from the cinematography, the film's score, it's action scenes, and chemistry between characters makes this movie a must-see and solidifies The Batman as easily one of the best superhero films of all time.
Boring, non action super hero movie doesn’t make sense
Robert Pattinson= W actor‼️
It didn’t feel a comic book movie, but a true deceive film. I really liked it.
The acting is this movie is amazing! The Riddler is the perfect villain in this movie. His riddles, tricks and plans are perfectly planned and gives Batman hell.
It was a great Batman movie. Robert Pattinson killed it
MOST INTIMIDATING BATMAN!!!
A lot of story with good action. There will definitely be a sequel
one of the best Batman movies ever made. but not the best one for sure. it's in my top three. I feel like it could have more actions and fights. I love the music and atmosphere of the movie. especially the first 30 minutes.
Finally a great Batman film that focuses on his early years as both the dark knight and detective. Perfect Noire film. Gives off a lot of “The Crow” vibes which is right up my alley. A film that is highly recommended seeing even if you’re not huge into Batman or at all.
I was at the edge of my seat the whole movie but as much as I love this movie it still is not close to Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight only thing that felt like Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight was the Riddler
How fitting that Robert Pattinson was a vampire in Twilight and now The Batman! Excellent performance! Almost forgot that Colin Farrell was in the movie until the credits, so surprised!
Best comic book themed live action batman! Definitely not for old people, sits better with younger people who aren't afraid to be sad
BATMAN !!!!!!!!
Metacritic
The Batman wants so badly to be hard boiled, to be “a vibe,” but it attempts to squeeze in so much that it feels frantic.
The reality is that there is probably nothing truly novel to be done with Batman at this point. He’s been thoroughly mined for both fun and pathos; try as Reeves and his co-screenwriter Peter Craig might, they can’t squeeze much higher-meaning blood out of a fatally depleted stone. Pattinson, moody and saturnine, does what he can, but he’s not afforded much beyond growling and scowling.
The Batman isn’t revolutionary. It doesn’t upend the superhero movie dynamic. Heck, people used to the recent superhero movies getting more cosmic and playing around with alternate timelines might not even like this more back to basics approach. But I, for one, found it refreshing. A nice little breather amidst the chaos. And proof that a good story with good characters can go quite a long way.
