Atom User Reviews for The Audience - NT Live 10th Anniversary
Excellent production, funny and moving. Missed the magic of live performance in person but like seeing this on the large screen plus the extras of actor interviews and behind the scenes how they did that were nice additions.
Very funny and quite touching. Wonderful performance by Mirran.
What a fantastic piece of theatre. I am completely impressed by this film. What nuance! Helen Mirren is astounding as E2. Pure Art!
Helen Mirren is her usual superlative self!
I loved it - She was amazing - the story was interesting to me
Wonderful performances and great costuming. Very intimate and touching.
Great performances!
Interesting portrayal of Queen Elizabeth. Helen Mirren is outstanding.
It was great to see Helen Mirren in this role. She absolutely becomes Elizabeth II. The costume changes are mind boggling! As one would suspect, this is dialogue driven, and the Brits certainly have a way with words. The second half was much more engaging than the first half, in my opinion. It helps to know a bit of British history before seeing it!
Glad I got to this. Helen Mirren is triumphant!
The film/play was very good but the theater (AMC Empire 234 W 42nd St. New York) made complete hash of it. The film kept stopping, keeping the audience waiting for a long time before anyone came to fix it. Also the lights in the theater stayed on for a long time into the movie before anyone dimmed them
If you love history, great acting with a compelling story, see this!
Thoughtful. And the girl that played the queen as a girl was fantastic.
One of the best plays I've ever seen.
