Moviegoers are saying
Reviewers are split on Terrestrial, with many calling it a fun, slippery ride and others finding its sci-fi tease more frustrating than clever. Jermaine Fowler's performance as Allen, a fixated writer who drifts from hangout comedy into something darker, is the one thing almost everyone agrees on. The audience at Fantasia clearly had a blast, but the film's refusal to settle into one genre leaves some viewers charmed and others feeling cheated.

The less you know about Terrestrial going in, the better—but here’s what I’ll say: Jermaine Fowler plays Allen, a rising-star writer whose weekend reunion with three old college friends (including one possible old flame) starts as a hangout comedy and subtly shifts into……

FANTASIA #14 *World Premiere* Oh goody, it's some contemporary Shakespearean Sci-Fi. It would also plotwise have been the most perfect and somehow more realistic sequel to I SAW THE TV GLOW. The enthusiastic audience and I had a fun time with this.

Terrestrial is a very entertaining, upsetting, sci-fi, thriller, crime, drama, comedy?  Yeah, it’s all that. I think. It’s probably a whole lot more too. You likely won’t be able to guess what happens next in this film, but you will definitely enjoy Jermaine Fowler’s…

A mega-fan, wannabe screenwriter tries to lightly stalk his hero and ends up tangling himself in a web way too difficult to get out of. The way the character blurs his own identity with his idol is fun — that slippery parasocial slide from fantasy to creep is pretty ripe…

I Saw The Misery by Stephen King Glow. Ideas are coherent enough but originality, entertainment value, and style are all maxed out at 30%.
