Absolutely fantastic. A love letter to the lost gay community of the 80s, and all the legends and stories we've lost since. I'm from Michigan and this film was so good, it made me put away my grudge against Ohio. I saw a buckeyes shirt and I didn't even say anything.
Concerning itself with death and history, Swan Song asks for an assured hand, but gets an ambitious assistant’s—one whose scrutiny and interest in the assortment of ideas within the work dithers, but whose ideas are nonetheless present if left only simmering.
The disconnect between the realities of different generations of gay men is one of Swan Song’s most unexpectedly joyful through lines.
