What they were able to do in this movie is make a sequel that continues the story, makes sense, and is legitimately funny without over using or forcing the jokes that comedy sequel often do. And that makes this movie fantastic. They do bring back the greatest hits from Super Troops but they subvert the joke or tell it in a different context that still lets the joke land. And the chemistry between the guys is still there. Also stay for the credits. There is a extra scene that interrupts the credits so you don’t have wait long. Like Farva’s bus scene from Super Troopers.

The Broken Lizard guys did one hell of a job. Great call backs to the original and the same stupid humor ❤
Even though they sometimes land a great joke, the troopers aren’t inherently amusing or even all that likable this time around. They’re undeniably corrupt cops, even if they are relatively benign about it. Super Troopers 2 still manages to be funny quite a bit of the time, but the word “funny” needs an asterisk next to it, warning that the laughs might carry with them a certain amount of guilt.
Super Troopers 2 is broad and hammy, like a lot of comedy, but unlike a lot, it makes little pretense to realism. It’s proud dad humor. It pokes you in the ribs enough times that the obnoxiousness eventually takes on a weird charm.
