Someone turn on the god damn lights so I could see what is going on.
Joe AMar 25, 2024You know what… on one hand this was the clunky/generic stuff I expected, but on the other hand the whole end is trying to do Alien/Aliens and it doesn’t completely fail so I respect that. Not everyone will recognize your game, Sting (that name is a cool reference, too).…

𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙢𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙩Apr 9, 2024The redback spider, also known as the Australian black widow, is the kind of creature that might shake a person’s belief in God. This Lovecraftian nightmare freak hunts its prey with balletic precision and squirts them with organic superglue before injecting them with a…
davidehrlichApr 11, 2024A 2.6? What on earth were the Letterboxd peeps expecting from Sting? It’s a film about a killer spider! Written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner, Sting is nothing memorable, but it knows what it is, sets out to accomplish it and succeeds. Thanks to a fun antagonist and a…

My toxic trait is I think killer spiders would spare me cuz I have a good vibe
Haunted HippieMay 14, 2024mom can we get alien on blu-ray no we have alien at home:
corey👻Jul 9, 2024It’s hard not to have fun with a movie about an alien spider. Although, there were way more animal deaths than I approve of. That wife was also so annoying. You’ve got a man holding down two jobs and looking after your baby daddy’s weird daughter and you still spend all…

Had the privilege of watching this one early. I was not expecting to enjoy a film revolving around a spider but I was pleasantly surprised. Fun story with characters that each serve a purpose along with a great performance by the little girl. I hope folks give this one a chance!
I paid to watch a movie about a giant spider killing people, and I got a movie about a giant spider killing people. Lots of cool scares and a brisk pace make this an easy watch for horror fans. It's not amazing, but it delivers on what it is selling. A solid 6/10, could probably wait for streaming.
A movie that should have been as easy as spider killing people gets dragged through the most boring set of characters — even the character whose whole purpose was clearly comedic relief felt stale The only reason i’m not disliking this movie is because every scene that incorporated the spider were…

3.5 - Stronger premise than performance. Reasonably creepy first half with big(ish) spider hunting trapped families, before it loses the thread. Feels way longer than it is, and is much too dark visually. Neither scary nor silly enough to be truly enjoyable.
in the beginning it was pretty boring, but as time went on, it kind of got interesting. I can understand why she took care of the spider in that way, cuz her parents are neglecting her. she is pretty alone most of the time. Glad the spider died.

I loved the grandma in this and I wanted the humor to be all throughout the movie. It was slow, constant arguing, and nothing that exciting. It was also so dark I could barely see what was happening half the time!
Got to preview this with a special from AMC was terrifying, thrilling and good story line. Having phobia spiders didn’t help but even without it will absolutely scare you to the bone!

Worth a watch, not too corny. Pretty funny at times
Decent for what I was expecting going on. Just understand that it's not supposed to make sense and much of the movie is carried on jokes and the relationships between the characters. Just don't expect common sense to prevail.
Metacritic
All in all, a diverting entertainment that, unlike so much contemporary horror, is prepared to have a good time. Fun for all the family.
Sting, black with a lethal red stripe, is never silly looking, though some of horror references feel a bit obvious and fanboy-ish.
Though its characters and story could've benefited from a deeper, more original development, Roache-Turner ultimately knows what audiences are coming to see and delivers that in droves, offering horrific deaths, a tense atmosphere and stylish direction to entertaining effect.
