- "So, 'Representative'! That must sound good." - "It does, I worked hard for it. But Sarah's also fine. I worked hard for that, too." 💕 This was uplifting, though in a heavy way. It's hard to celebrate wins if overall it feels like so much is being lost. But watching…
TaliscentJun 7, 2025Joynt’s fourth feature, State of Firsts, is a surprisingly intimate and complicated portrait of one of the most divisive political figures of our time: Sarah McBride. Controversial on all sides of the political spectrum, the first openly trans congresswoman is an…
MorganMPageApr 14, 2026I don’t blame Sarah McBride. She has a life experience I can never fully understand, and faced challenges I can’t even comprehend. But what’s difficult in thinking about these gaps between us is just how familiar she feels. She is a corporate-owned moderate Democrat with no…

KaboomyNov 9, 2025my friend produced this doc about someone who was student body president when we were in college, and now happens to be a historic member of Congress!! and I just think that’s really cool!! yay Jenna and yay Sarah!!
megJul 2, 2026loooooved this. a really thoughtful portrait of a trailblazer who is all too aware of the fires around her, but presses on anyway. and, as illuminated in the post-screening Q&A, a coming-of-age story in its own right!
