I might have liked this if it was 90 minutes
James (Schaffrillas)Dec 1, 2025There’s something really beautiful watching dentists, mechanics, and tour guides never giving up on the things that make them feel the most alive, even if it means singing Neil Diamond songs at a Thai restaurant. Ending drags a bit, but a movie about the power of love (and…
Joe AJan 25, 2026made me cry like five times. hudson and jackman both fantastic here! brewer's filmography makes it clear that he has a soft spot for art and artists that are generally disrespected, and i really appreciate how careful and loving he is with showing what that art means to the…

The first hour is such a jolly Holiday feel-good treat of a movie until the second hour repeatedly bashes your heart in with the most unexpected turns. Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman are fantastic as Thunder and Lightning, and their chemistry oozes off the screen. One of…
Tyler WhitmoreDec 14, 2025Y’all just love to hate on a biopic. I went in with no expectations because of the pretentious reviews on here, but this ended up being a great melodrama. Best use of “I'm a Believer” since Shrek.

Kate Hudson’s performance in Song Sung Blue isn’t just strong, it’s the kind of quietly devastating, fully lived‑in work that absolutely deserves to be in the Oscar conversation. She dials back any showiness and instead lets the character breathe, building an emotional arc that sneaks up on you.…

Song Sung Blue isn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen, but it’s definitely not great either. The biggest issue for me was that it felt like it was missing a lot of necessary plot. The movie relied heavily on emotional turning points, and while those moments themselves actually worked, we were…
Saw this at a Monday surprise premiere a week before release date and it really surprised me. Good love story and good chemistry between Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman. It focuses on the resilience of love and passion in their relationship and what they love to do on stage. Definitely recommend if…

Based on a true story which is insane. Phenomenal story and acting. I don’t even like musical type movies and this was superb. Can’t believe Lightning got within mins of meeting Neil and died in the parking lot. So tragic you can’t believe it. Gotta listen to Neil Diamond. 8.9/10
It was so sad, but I connected with it a lot, the music, characters, the constant drama. I didnt know that she would have the accident and i literally screamed SO hard, and then the heart attack?!?! I was like hell, i came here for music, i didnt wanna cry so much! Loved it
watched the prerelease, it’s not typically my style but it was good. Prob wouldn’t rewatch it but it’s worth a watch. The acting was good l Loved seeing Ella Anderson in it she was really good, but I love her in general so I’d prob love her in anything. A good movie overall.

Really enjoyed the music and the true story.
Well cast, excellent production, and on screen chemistry make this a great feature

Blue might be the warmest colour elsewhere, but here it’s just a bit tepid.
It goes without saying that the screenplay, unavoidably melodramatic in places yet never mawkish, is designed for audiences to root for the couple, but Jackman and Hudson are so on their game, so engaged in making Mike and Claire believable that only stone-hearted cynics won’t end up loving them.
This movie’s got as many cliches as Madison’s got cheese curds. But script aside, Jackman and Hudson onstage are effervescent and, speaking as someone who’s never mounted a motorcycle, the songs rock.
