Synopsis
In a kingdom ruled by a young and unpredictable king, the military commander has a secret weapon: a “shadow”, a look-alike who can fool both his enemies and the King himself. Now he must use this weapon in an intricate plan that will lead his people to victory in a war that the King does not want.

8.5 . Definitely a slow burn but super worth the watch. The cinema style is absolutely beautiful. Acting was amazing but at points was confusing, I understood everything eventually but was definitely lost at some points.

It’s not one of [Zhang’s] very best, not on a par with “Hero” (Jet Li’s finest hour) or “House of Flying Daggers” even. But it still becomes a rousing, stately entry in the martial arts genre. Eventually.
