the kind of movie my dad would watch and not remember anything about the next day

djami_smrMay 10, 2025Joe Carnahan directing fooled me, I had a pretty good time with his previous features (Boss Level, Copshop) but I really should've trusted my instincts on this one. The title alone was a giant red flag I chose to ignore. Shadow Force looked like a bland, boring, generic…

i gotta stop going to the movies man
SamSpearJun 22, 2025I love a well-written, well-acted shitty little action movie. This is what Netflix thought they were making when they gave us Back in Action with Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. That movie was forgettable. Shadow Force isn’t. Sure, the pacing drags in a few spots, and the…
McGreyMay 22, 2025It’s a super duper standard action thriller that doesn't bother to break any molds or take any chances. The plot takes too many liberties, at least it did for me? This film never properly explains any key elements, and leaves you to really to fill in the gaps, sadly? Can…

An action movie that tries to find its own way with a family drama that’s way more than the story needs. The plot is one cliché after another, no vision or originality, from the wooden acting to the bland and predictable story that feels like a rough draft. The movie plods…
rickApr 28, 2025There are films that simply can't try any harder. Too little money, too little time, too limited resources. And that's okay. That can be forgiven, deduced, relativized. But there are also films that seem as if they simply don't want to try any harder. Regardless of the…

I was looking forward to this being the usual cheap, fun, and quick action flick, which it is, but in the weirdest way. The casting is great, yet the acting and chemistry aren't. The story has character development and some depth, yet it is predictable and slow. The action and stunts are fun, yet…
Movie felt very rushed and predictable. They could have done a whole lot more with the movie. Could have had a way better story line. Especially with the dad being deaf and having “superpowers” when he took his hearing aid out. Would not recommend or watch again.

7.6/10 i felt as though this movie could have been significantly better if they had one small thing better, choreographed action scenes - the cast was awesome and the plot actually had me very engaged but every time a fight scene started all the tension left and i fell out of the story
The man sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger doing a French accent. Plus I can't really stand Kerry Washington after I had an argument with her online during covid, with her telling me I was putting people's lives at risk not getting the vaccine (which doesn’t even prevent it)

when “Unc” asked Ky how does he feel about Wu-Tang Clan and he responded “Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nothing to f* with” took me clean out 😭 like that’s not method man himself. overall, it definitely had potential but it unfortunately lacked depth
I don’t think any effort was put into the writing here. The plot was so underwhelming I was borderline bored. The “trained assassins” didn’t even feel trained. Dull and generic film. 2

Very good action movie. Similar plot but very funny.
Sort of fun if you or someone you know speaks French occasionally. Should have edited tighter. . .and removed every scene where the kid sings!

The charisma-endowed Washington and Sy do all they can to make the proceedings engrossing but even they are hard-pressed to make it interesting.
Nothing in Shadow Force surprises, delights or even attempts to raise your pulse above a twitch.
Though it’s positioned in the early days of the summer movie reason, Shadow Force winds up as an unintentional advertisement for staying home.
