“I live in the weak and the wounded...doc.” It’s a bit nerve-wracking to rewatch a film for the first time since creating your Letterboxd account and putting it in your top 4. Will it live up to that honor? Was it really that good or was it nostalgia? Was I high the…
Tony the TerrorJun 10, 2013You stick with this job too long, it'll mess you up man. It gets inside of you - the stress. This is probably one of the strangest horror films I've ever seen. It's cheap looking but superbly acted and directed. It's got a cheesy setup but turns into something…

c h r i sAug 18, 2022David Caruso’s acting is like asbestos. People thought it was good back then until everyone realized that long exposure to it could cause a number of life-threatening illnesses. That’s why he stopped acting in 2012.
CinemaVoid 🏴☠️Oct 20, 2012Location. Location. Location. The true star of this film is the asylum it takes place in. It's almost a character and this is achieved without cgi or any other effects. It is the place. The majestic exterior and the run down and creepy interior. What Brad Anderson does…

It’s slow. Very slow. I don’t get it being on peoples most frightening movie list unless the ending really hits you hard. Few if any scares throughout. That being said I really enjoyed it. Very good cast and plot. Ending was rough. Suspected things. Not what you expect totally. 👍
patience is rewarded with this one. the atmosphere was great and the movie never fell into the “mentally ill people are violent” trope

Low-budget for sure, but I've seen much worse. Not as scary as I would have hoped, but it had some disturbing moments. Mostly, I just wish they had done a bit more with the asylum setting. Feels like there was a lot of missed potential that could have made it great.
This was such a fun watch. It’d been years since I’d seen it, so it was like watching for the first time. Loved the haunted elements, and im such a sucker for movies set in historic buildings/asylums so it was perfect for me :)

Very slow and confusing. Had so many questions but so little answers. Was scary at some moments, but overall nothing so special. Need to pay very good attention to understand the story
Filmed inside a real abandoned hospital, gives that creepy vibe! Sometimes you should just ignore those voices inside your head
