differentcitiesJan 14, 2021saddest part of rent is roger spending the whole musical trying to write a good song only to end up writing the worst song in the whole show :’(

i will never be able to write an honest review of this movie because it would kill 14-year-old-me to say anything against it.

Aside from Dreamgirls and Sister Act, I never really liked musicals. I tried this because I’m trying new things and I was really impressed. I felt both joy and sadness watching this. I fell in love with all the songs. The music really inspires and heals. Definitely a 10/10.
watched this the first time w/o knowing anything about it. i cried so unbelievably much. the music is whatever, some songs really eat, but the CHARACTERS and the STORY. bruh. moved every time. i also have seen this live

I loved this mostly because I just adore this musical (I just got cast as Tom Collins at my college🥳). I think they really improved some numbers with movie magic which is what movie musicals should do, but mostly stayed true. I also liked the way they handled Angels death better.
Great adaptation of the musical to movie, keeping true to much of the stage performance. Having several of the original stage actors helped elevate it, their powerhouse vocals carried over well. An important story and while not all of the songs are hits, most are really beautiful

I love Angel and Mimi and Collins and Joanne, they're so cute and cool and awesome!! This movie manages to be light about really serious issues. Also the whole rebellious bohemian vibe? That's an big loud yes from me!
the best musical of all time. the movie gives the play more background, due to more settings and the scenes. absolutely beautiful. loved it so much.
