This flick is extremely predictable and has been done a lot better in other movies. There's little action and the dialogue is painfully dreadful. The acting feels very unnatural and forced. It was hard for me to watch it until the end. Not worth watching.

Taken in the sandbox. Gary Dourdan is definitely a badass in Redemption Day. I’m glad to see him in a role like this, and I hope he keeps making badass macho action flicks.  The plot is super generic, but it is still very watchable. Gary carries the movie on his back, but…

Big goose egg for this one. An "action thriller" with no action and no thrills. Lifeless script, complete with a "twist ending" that is among the funniest I've seen in a while. Dourdan does not have the charisma to carry the movie. All the gunfire and blood and explosions…

Even in 2021, some things never change. An action flick ironically called “Redemption Day” showcases former “CSI” staple Gary Dourdan playing a poorly written military man in a film that has zero redeeming qualities. Equal parts dull and spineless, this abduction thriller…

The longest hour-and-forty of my life, and it couldn't have ended sooner. I simply wanted to spend a movie night with mi madre & padre, so I stuck around for popcorn time, but didn't pick the flick lmao Brass tacks, Redemption Day is not cinema, and frankly, one of- if…

There are three radically different movies fighting for space within the confines of "Redemption Day," and while I suppose it should be commended for having such great ambitions, the trouble is that it doesn't really work on any of its various narrative levels. This is…

Time may feel like a flat circle, but the calendar says it’s January, so that means we get shoddy, dumping-ground dreck like the generically titled Redemption Day.

There’s not a thrill to be found in this ostensible thriller, a rote kidnapping exercise taped together with digital blood spatter and an overly dramatic score, vaguely gesturing at global crises from five years ago.

Moroccan producer (French TV’s “The Bureau”) turned director Hicham Hajji has no sense of pace, and while he’s got “names” on board, he doesn’t give them much to chew on. The script has these half-hearted efforts to shoehorn third-act twists and political messaging into the picture, but they’re as a limp and obvious as one actor’s feigned southern drawl in the finale.
