I've read the book. And while I can't expect the movie to show every detail, this really didn't do it any justice. The message was not properly conveyed through the movie..It felt rushed ! I wanted them to show more of Angel's journey through her faith.
Should have read the reviews first. We went expecting a clean, inspiring Christian movie.

not a fmly movie
Loved the book first! Waited so long for the movie and was not disappointed! Wonderful story of TRUE LOVE, grace, forgiveness and hope! Thank you Francine Rivers for this beautiful story of God’s redeeming love!
Don’t take kids

Amazing movie with a wonderful message of faith and hope!
This is God’s love story to us. He loves us, sin, shame, guilt and all. And He patiently waits for us to truly repent and turn fully to Him. He never forces up to choose him, but there is such freedom when we do.
Billed as a Christian movie but full of nudity, sex, child abuse, etc. Dark and depressing with unlikable two-dimensional characters. Save your money.

I wasn’t sure how the movie would compare to the book. But it did not disappoint! All the key elements were there and they were presented beautifully.

I thought the movie followed the book pretty well. Showed what God’s redeeming love can do to heal you from the past & learning to love yourself. God can have an impact on your future when you step out in faith. The movie was really intense & very impactful.

For what it is, and for who it is for, Redeeming Love is in its own way an effective showing of the power of love. Undoubtedly, however, a more compelling romantic drama about a woman finding peace with herself could have been told.
Redeeming Love is an incident-rich saga populated by cardboard heroes and villains and outfitted with greeting-card sentiments and cartoon villainy.
Stuck in this largely infantilized role, Cowen imbues Angel with as much verve and spunk as she can; she’s often funnier and darker than necessary, offering a refreshing dash of acid to temper the sickly sweetness.
