Atom User Reviews for Red One
The writers did a great job telling the backstory of the characters. Not recommended for children under 10, can be pretty intense.
Surprisingly entertaining and well made movie with a great message. If they would just leave out the cursing. Not for kids under 12.
Too much violence and swearing for children!!
Heard it was good and did not disappoint..we saw it in 4DX and incredible!..go see it!
Would have been 5 stars but too much inappropriate language for children. Otherwise it really was good. Action, story and casting were great.
I don't understand the hate people got for this movie. It's actually a good movie.
So I went into this totally bummed cause my godson wanted to see this man was I wrong on all levels I laughed I cried I was o the edge of my seat talk about a great fresh new way to start the holiday season!
Best early Christmas movie ever and 10/10 I rate it must see it twice or more times please make part 2 in future years.
Great movie, they covered all the tiny details.
Red One lived up to its hype and is a must-see for the entire family...
Enjoyed the movie!! Have already recommended it to my friends. Touching ending.
a fun holiday movie doesn't go crazy but a solid fun movie.
a few too many curses for the little ones
Definitely wouldn’t watch as a Christmas movie nor with the kids. Had some scare characters.
It was ok. Story was kind of confusing and most of the cool action scenes were spoiled in the trailer, like the snowmen and the krampus slapping competition. Ending was very predictable too. Go see Wild Robot instead 😁.
Unexpectedly fun! Go see it!
Too many cuss words but otherwise amazing
Some scenes went on too long!
It was a great movie. We loved it. I hope it gets the credit it deserves.
This was so cute! Others said swearing but I only remember one fade on an “f” bomb that never was said. The it was fun and something we’ll watch every year I’m sure!
Good movie! I could watch it again. A slow moment or two, but still a good movie! Loved the mythical characters!
10/10
Honestly for a Christmas movie it was fun and pretty much nailed it. Had brief moments of ok, this is boring and predictable but picked right back up and finished strong.
Not too shabby more for kids I would say.
great movie, not suitable for children.
Definitely not as good as it should have been. Save your money and watch it when it comes out at home.
Watching this movie will be a must every Christmas!
a great movie overall. deserved better reviews than what's shown. was a fun flick to watch
Solid Christmas blockbuster. Nothing special but not terrible.
I’m sorry I just haven’t seen a movie lately that I want to see over and over again. It Ends With Us was the last movie I loved I saw it four times in the theater and bought the movie.
With great actors and punny humor and an intriguing plot, this film makes Santa realer then ever before
Great, fun Christmas movie!! Not your cliché Christmas story. Enjoyed it!!
Creative yet has long scenes that get boring. Some mild language and mild nudity. Just another “we gotta save Christmas or rather save Santa movie” The movie got weird with all the gothic type people/creatures. I guess that’s their interpretation of mythical. Fun but one timer movie!
A fresh adult Christmas fantasy, but definitely not for kids under 12.
Just ok
Okay Seriously DJ The Rock literally just made a Christmas OG movie This was so freaking awesome and has all the feeling and the Xmas spirit and him and Chris Evan’s are Awesome together
Guardians of the galaxy meet Santa Claus
Young children could be frightened, but those who read, know their fairy tales and such could live the trolls, witches and Krampus!!! Too Fun!!! Loved it
Not what I would call family friendly for language and some imagery of mythical creatures that bordered on scary for a Christmas story
Best Christmas Film Of This Year and Very Original. In Its Unique Way. Can't wait to see it on streaming. Hopefully for the Holidays
It a fun new take for a Santa Christmas movie and it definitely could go in my list of Christmas movies to watch every year. Definitely original, and a fun movie to watch
My sister and I had planned to see a movie for my b-day in November, but we couldn't find time until December, and we picked Red One, since we both like Christmas movies, plus we figured we couldnt go wrong with such an all star cast, and so true that turned out to be. The story + script were really good, making the whole idea believable, easily mixed funny lines with non-stop action in every scene, yet I still felt tears in my eyes for a moment without that feel good moment never slowing down the movies flow. Really inpressive, and now I have a new xmas movie favorite to add to the x-mas watch list.
Adding it to the Christmas favorites! Surprisingly better than expected
Excellent.
I was disappointed about the language…I took my grands that were 6 & 8, and we don’t use that kind of language in our home…that’s why it isn’t family friendly for me.
Go see it . Take the kids. Beach seen had some thong shots , nothing serious. Not woke . No pc bull crap. Just a great movie
Good movie with a good cast. holds your attention all the way through.
This movie was surprisingly refreshing and fun to watch. In a world suffering from “Super Hero Fatigue” seeing Captain America and Black Adam working with Fletcher from “Whiplash” in such a good feel good and fun movie is exactly what we needed.
Awesome holiday movie. Great cast!!!!
Great Movie/Cast, will see it again
Metacritic
The movie surrounds its mismatched stars with a whole lot of shockingly inconsistent special effects, preaching a sentimental yuletide message even as it looks like the height of soulless commercialization.
For all its built-in cynicism and tired tropes, Red One is not as insufferable as you’d expect. At the least you can count on Evans and Johnson committing to the bit and selling all the broad gags they can, which should be enough to win over the elves in your family.
It's a mechanically functioning, intermittently humorous amusement park attraction whose greatest sin is that it never rises to its hidden potential.
