Atom User Reviews for Reagan
It’s amazing. His love for the people, his humor and his focus on what was most important. Our freedom. All of it was brought back to remembrance. Greatest president of my time.
Thought provoking! Many elements mirror what is happening in our day right now. It sows cases that we need a strong president who understands the art of the deal, economics, and the American people!!! Vote Trump 2024!!!
Great depiction of Reagan. An inspiration of what we can be.
This is a great movie. True to life and great casting!
I wish youth could see this, with a parent, grandparent. To see, discuss openly, and look for the opportunities. I really worry about so much history that is being repeated and the tragedies, lessons which may have to be learned. We always seem to say," Never again, we will always remember ".
Academy Award for Dennis Quaid
a wonderful movie in every way
Watch this movie!!! I was a young mom when this great man became President. The stark contrast of the ‘Reagan Years’ vs all that came before - and after - cannot be overstated. Reagan brought strength stability morality and peace to the world.
Great chunk of history!
A true love story! He truly loved our God, his wife, and our country! Very true to real life. One of the greatest American presidents!
Worth seeing in the theater a second time
Very moving. My politics were different then and I didn’t know a lot about him but for the lies the folks I hung with told. It was great to learn what he was really like. Amazing man.
Fantastic! You want to see this movie!
Great depiction, especially if you're from the time period. A little about their love but good description of his successes and mistakes.
Excellent casting. I lived in CA during his governorhship, and he was amazing. Driven by optimism and love of country.
the movie Reagan is very good. i would give it a B+ except for Nancy's part. they made her look gentle and there was nothing gentle about her!!!
Gave me chills up and down my spine.
Told from an intriguing perspective, this movie is a must-see!
Great president with beautiful faith!
Excellent Movie, Dennis Quad was spot on!
Worth watching -- lots happening in the 80s that most do not know about
I was a brainwashed California Union liberal back then, but learned to appreciate what we had. I loved this movie. Loved how much they crammed in 2hrs. Learned about his hippy speechwriter, that went on to be Congressman Dana Rohrabacher serving San Diego from '89 to 2019! Oh, and make sure you stay until "after" the credits to see the response letter from the little boy about the fish!
Ronald Reagan was a great president. Both Dennis Quaid and Penelope Ann Miller played Ronald and Nancy Reagan very well. Oscar Worthy Performances.
Reagan, a man sent from God with two angels at his side.
Too bad the millennials n Gen XYZ don’t know the history of this period. The courage our leaders showed…Kennedy, Johnson, and Reagan to remove the specter of nuclear annihilation off the table. We need take kind of fearless leadership again.
Our current political environment is very similar to the Carter years before Reagan; very divided and discouraging. This movie will restore your love of America.

Great story and great cast!
This was my coming of age and learning to vote era. Loved the whole thing. Cried at the end and remembered all the news clips and other things.
Moving in a couple spots. Clean and inspiring, good actors. I remember well how the media treated him. Discovered later his was a critically thinking person and wrote many thoughtful and skillful letters.
Clean, historical movie. Not rated, but is suitable for all audiences, and everyone should see it!
We brought the whole family to see this and everyone loved it. Dennis Quaid captures Reagan so well! The movie was very inspiring.
Great movie and inspiring!
Need more real life stories like this, at movie theatres everywhere.
I great tribute to greatest president in my lifetime. It was clear he loved this country and understood the dangers lurking that are all too real today.
Excellent! Many lessons to remember.
It was refreshing to see a story about a president who loved America. It was from a different angle than expected. It was a great movie. I truly enjoyed the experience and attention to some details like jelly beans.
Our people need to Be reminded of how great men have saved and shaped our nation and the dangers of liberalism that turns into socialism!
The audience applauded after the movie was over. You don't see that often
It was great to see a good movie about President Reagan. He was a great president and did so many good things with a lot of opposition. Dennis Quaid did a wonderful job as Reagan. I loved this movie!

It’s worth watching. Dennis Quaid is such a very good actor.
This is a movie you will want to see a second time. Its a love story and a patriotic one at that. It has all the feelings and emotions possible to experience in one’s body. You will laugh, cry, feel a sense of pride, feel a love of country and get to know Ronald Reagan’s life from beginning to the end. A must see!
The penultimate presidential history lesson, in a feel-good movie!

Metacritic
This is a 135-minute film that demands a lot more depth. And, so, to co-opt a political phrase from Bill Clinton, whom Quaid also has played: It’s the script, stupid.
Reagan is the worst kind of hagiography. It’s a wretched 2½-hour bore that’s uncurious about its subject.
This is a competently made film with decent cinematography and production design, and the casting is never less than ... interesting, but it favors a simplistic approach and a narrative that verges on adoration.
