If this is anything, it's gorgeous. What truly lovely photography...golden candlelit backwoods cabins, steel blue nighttime wilderness, captured either in long, fluid crane shots or backlit, smoky tableaux. Not to mention the really staggering creature effects (unsurprising…

American rural folk jam shrouded in an ominous atmosphere of thick fog and glimmering colors seeping through it—a backwoods nightmare that’s completely shut off from the rest of the world. So much to love about Pumpkinhead… the steeped in dust Harley homestead, the…

Pumpkinhead is now easily my favorite gourd-based monster

It rules that Pumpkinhead has his own strobe lighting that follows him around so every time he makes an entrance it looks cool as hell

Way better than expected, but I do wish his head was a bit more pumpkin-y

Had some rando on TikTok comment on my recent video rant saying that Pumpkinhead wasn’t “elevated” horror, which made me feel a little nervous that my memory was failing—so, naturally, I worked it into my late October viewing schedule to reevaluate. And I am happy to report…

What better way to kick off October than by watching Pumpkinhead! I haven't seen this since I was a kid on cable, and its just as creepy and tragic as I remembered. Lance Hendriksen lives in the middle of nowhere with his son Bily and dog Gypsy, when a bunch of city kid…

went in expecting a slasher with some top notch gooey creature fx by winston and creepy atmosphere courtesy of bazelli's typically beautiful lighting and camera work, and technically i did get that i guess but the actual mood and horror elements are relatively lowkey and…

Could more have been done with this film? Yes. Yet that doesn’t take away the fact I adore this film. Stan Winston, the absolute genius you are with practical effects. I love how you can understand where everyone in this film is coming from, I truly do not think there is a 1/2

Pumpkinhead

cool vibe, cool props, cool effects, but just fell short.. pumpkinhead himself is a beautiful design and a super cool sculpt with a very alien like texture (thank u stan winston) but i would’ve loved to see him more in action and more murderous, it would’ve been really cool to see with that prop!…

Pumpkinhead

Never been a favorite of mine, but it's still one hell of a creature feature. Pumpkinhead is also one of the coolest creature designs out there, and I'm glad to see it's becoming a bigger cult classic as more people discover it.

Pumpkinhead

A classic schlocky 80s horror with icon Lance Henriksen. Stan Winston monster movies rarely miss. A touch of Evil Dead and a dash of Friday the 13th. It’s not a top ten by far, but lovers of 80s horror will rejoice.

Pumpkinhead

A solid horror film with strong mood, practical effects, & Lance Henriksen’s great performance. The revenge story gives it weight. It’s not perfect, but it’s creepy & well worth revisiting. Solid B Movie

Pumpkinhead

I liked the movie for the practical effects but I also felt very while watching this movie cause story wise it wasn’t there (I watched this movie cause I like Stan Winston school) 7.3/10

Pumpkinhead

Despite what the title says, it in fact does not resemble a pumpkin whatsoever, which is kinda sad, like where's the whimsy yfm. If anything, it looks like a reptilian xenomorph

Pumpkinhead

This was dumb. Basically lance fighting a xenomorph rip off. If you like campy 80s creature features by all means you will love this. Just not my jam.
