Atom User Reviews for Princess Mononoke - Studio Ghibli Fest 2023
The movie feels great on the big screen and the music really swells while you're there. The only drawback I saw in this viewing was with the long panning shots there was a weird frame rate or frame dip that felt bad on the eyes otherwise the film was great to experience again
Miyazaki is an amazing artist!
Ok, honestly superb. As a huge Studio Ghibli fan, Princess Mononoke isn’t even in my top 3 SG movies. But I never expected that seeing this movie in theaters would be so amazing. I have seen Kiki’s Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky in theaters as well this year but so far Princess Mononoke takes the cake. The surround sound of the theater makes Princess Mononoke’s music SOAR so beautifully, you have to live it at least once.
One of my top 3 Miyazaki films. I love seeing it on the big screen. It is such a beautiful( both visually and story) film.
What a great movie to see on the big screen! If you’re a studio Ghibli fan better than your pc screen.
This is a fabulous movie. It is not intended for young children as it shows violence. The meaning of all life and the arc of civilization are some of the themes. It is absolutely beautiful, inspiring, and the orchestral music written for the movie is perfect.
Miyazaki's magnum opus, quite possibly the greatest animated film ever crafted and undoubtedly one of the finest films of any kind.
Metacritic
Wacky, vividly conceived but mundanely executed cartoon fantasy.
A big movie for the ages, full to the brim with sympathy, imagination and sheer visual delight.
One of the most visually inventive films I have ever seen.
