Moviegoers are saying
Reviewers are split between genuine awe and bemused mockery of the premise, with the film's real currency being its performances. Andrew Scott's turn as meteorologist James Stagg draws the most praise, with one reviewer calling it "yet another acting masterclass," and Brendan Fraser's Eisenhower "more than holds his own." The slow start is the main complaint, but once the stakes lock in, several viewers say they were "glued to your seat through the end credits."

One guy thinks it's going to rain. Another guy thinks it won't. Brendan Fraser is caught in the middle.

they want you to believe this is a tense D-Day war-thriller when in actuality it is a diva-off between two meteorologists with clashing strategies and personalities. and, crucially, they’re played by two of our finest working actors: Andrew Scott (wearing beautiful blue…

A movie that stands up for science in an age of science-denying charlatans is a blessing. And this “true story” hews closely enough to the facts to play as history.

For the most part, the film is a model of narrative economy and clear character development, all grounded and enhanced by Scott’s delicate performance.

Fraser’s Eisenhower is physically imposing — much more than the real man — and stubborn too, though in a louder way. But he’s frankly less interesting than Scott’s multifaceted Stagg, a character and performance that elevates an otherwise efficient, well-made war movie into something more intriguing.
