    I’m so much more forgiving of a movie’s visual flatness and bland photography when it features a Yautja wielding a laser bow and laser sword that is consistently used to slice off the appendages of the most wild looking creatures. Glad to see that toxic family relationships…

    As a longtime fan, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a PG-13 Predator movie. but I have to say, Dan Trachtenberg knows exactly what he’s doing! He’s doing great things with the franchise because he truly understands what makes the Predator work.

The action is horrifying, inventive, and heart-pounding, but it’s also the least surprising part of Predator: Badlands.

In the end, Predator: Badlands is a bizarrely inspirational adventure about different types of beings overcoming the limiting parts of their programming (literal or figurative) and/or proving there is more to them than others assumed. The takeaway is applicable to beings all across the universe: sometimes the things you want most are not worth having, and when you figure that out, you’ll be free.
