just to be clear, i was in love with the witchy//whimsigoth aesthetic and the talented performances. otherwise, the story was kinda all over the place. the romance felt rushed with no built-up chemistry. so many scenes that i thought were going to be important later but weren’t??
𝔑𝔞𝔩𝔞 lovedPractical MagicI f*cking love Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. Great to watch any time of the year, but especially great for the fall season. Should be talked about more.
Nick Dubberly is "meh" onPractical MagicI heard about a sequel to this movie being developed and I figured I would finally give this a shot. I’m not sure who edited this but man, this was so choppy it was almost hard to follow. Overall I could have missed this forever and not felt bad about it.

Just that scene where women come together to form a seance
Bella likedPractical MagicSandy and Nicole slay in this. I enjoyed it, however I really didn’t feel chemistry between the Sandra and the guy she ends up with?
Maddie lovedPractical MagicThis movie is the PERFECT fall watch! It’s fun and heartfelt and so comforting! I really enjoyed seeing Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock play sisters. On the whole, this movie just put me in a great mood! It’s so enchanting that I now wish I came from a family of witches too!

Hands down one of my favorite fall/ Halloween season movies to watch, but let’s be fair I would watch it at any time during the year. This movie brings me huge nostalgia vibes for the 90s, I just want to go back in time. Plus I absolutely love Sandra Bullock 😍
delulu dislikedPractical MagicDebunking my theory that if there is a sequel means it’s a good film. Unfortunately these iconic duo failed to carry this mashup witchy film. It gave off 90s vibe (I get it) but it’s not for me, while the plot was totally haywired
sydney likedPractical Magicit was like good and interesting and i wasn’t really feeling the love interest but that “i wished for you too” like was CRAZYYYYY but also isn’t this all happening like 6 months after like pause

It was an absolutely phenomenal movie that I didn't realize I needed! It had the hilarious, warm, and cozy feelings of the first movie that pulls you in from the get-go. Yes, the plots might be cliche, but it did not detract from the actual movie. I would see it again!

Though its startling shifts in tone sometimes seem unmotivated, this dark yet syrupy 1998 romance has an adolescent charm.

Director Griffin Dunne lacks a clear vision, torn between blithe spirits and brimstone, between madcap and macabre. But then what does it matter when there's so little magic on screen anyhow? That is unless you count making audiences disappear.

Lively acting, eye-catching cinematography, and funny dialogue lift this fantasy a notch above the average until love-story cliches and horror-movie shocks bog it down.
