Synopsis
It’s a high-stakes gig that requires nearly 2 years of training, incredible attention to detail, and on-the-fly decision-making… all while someone’s safety hangs in the balance. We’re referring, of course, to guide dogs – those talented pups that act as another set of eyes for the seeing impaired. This “dogumentary” follows the remarkable odyssey that will transform a group of adorable puppies into dogs capable of being responsible for a person’s safety. Or at least that’s the hope, but be forewarned: not every dog is cut out for the job. It’s ok, though. They’re all still very, very good puppers in our book!

people that worked with the dogs were wonderful and what the training these dogs go thru were great
Fun, cute movie. Never thought enough about what it takes to train these awesome pups.
Metacritic
In a tussle between the appeal of the subject and the plodding banality of the approach, the pups are ultimately the losers.
Devoid of any corniness, sentimentality or condescension, Pick of the Litter is a must for dog lovers, but it will also serve all those needing reminders of how kind, decent and giving humans can be and the role dogs play in our lives.
What are the concerns of coherent storytelling or in-depth documentation when all of these good boys and girls — yes they are! — are leaping and licking and tail-wagging and just being the best?
