    fully commits to being insane and over the top, i absolutely love it there are some fantastic costumes in this, specifically winslow and beef's, they would be so iconic if only more people knew about this movie reminds me a lot of rocky horror which is one of my fave movies ever

    Fitting that Phoenix rises to stardom after a live firey death. This is the type of movie my family judges me for loving. I don’t care though. This was awesome.

    A totally off-the-wall and wacky musical horror film that has little to no seriousness to be found and nails it. The score is fantastic and the actors all mesh well together. Poorly done blood and gore (which is minimal) only add to the cheesy fun of it all. A must watch.

    91% Gorgeous, Funny, Tragic. These are the words i’d use to describe Phantom of the Paradise. Simply a masterpiece. I was expecting camp, and it was a little camp, but damn this movie knew what it wanted to be and became it. Would recommend.

This was one of De Palma's early efforts, and its excesses can be chalked up to youthful enthusiasm—the ideas seem appealingly audacious even when they misfire, which is more often than not.
