I had a great time watching and honestly was wondering how they were going to tackle all the jumping that the book does but I think they did a pretty good job. Canada and NOLA were highlights. Obviously there’s stuff going to be cut to make it flow. Can say that the “this summer” timeline wasn’t…
i will give it a like, but it was actually a solid 8/10, this move feels like a cousin to the book, loved poppy’s character being portrayed liked this, emily excelled. the hair pulling at that scene 🥵 alex ate a couple of important moments from the book where missed, but solid
It's not a Netflix movie without a gay couple and wedding right... If Poppy isn't the biggest red flag then J don't even know. The story was cool, I personally didn't like the back and forth, wish it was present, then all the past and the present again. It just fell short for me

Anyone who likes romcoms will enjoy this! Beautiful direction, cinematography, lighting, and wardrobe in addition to great performances by the two leads (Emily Bader does much of the heavy lifting, and she dazzles in every moment!) What a shame we couldn’t see this in theaters!
giving a love for the sake of this being so well done, even tho this is one of my least fave emily henry books. chemistry between our mcs wasn’t that strong imo they’re just like really good actors independent of each other that i could be invested in their story. idk if poppy 1/

Cute, the in the beginning was really good, especially the flash backs, although it felt like a lot was missing and I didn’t really get to know the character as well (needed the book trauma). I wish we spent more time with the current summer and their emotional relationship.
The first 15 minutes made me cringe so bad I almost turned it off but then ended up liking it. I did read the book 2 years ago but forgot mostly everything about it

As a low-stress package tour of will-they-won’t-they romance highlights, it does the trick.
It all feels and plays recycled and watered-down — the longing, the testy edge that’s supposed to signal “sparks,” the heartache of indecision.
It’s all just really bizarre, limp copies of better films.
