    “nice house you guys got” as mainstream a thriller as you would find in 2002, but just as stylish as anything fincher had made up until then. i personally think this is overlooked for how effectively it works within the walls of a single location, and the “cutting edge”…

    not finchers best imo, foster and stewart didn’t make me believe their relationship and aside from whitaker all the characters were pretty one dimensional I appreciate the clever use of the one location and a few cool camera tricks, but they are outdone by subpar performances

    it’s rare that a fincher film bores me but this one did. too predictable for the caliber of director that he is and it didn’t help that jared cornrows leto was annoying every time he was on screen. would’ve enjoyed this more if it were scarier and more suspenseful.

The movie resembles a chess game; the board and all of the pieces are in full view, both sides know the rules, and the winner will simply be the better strategist.
