On the basis of the Transformers films I used to believe that Michael Bay hated women, however having seen this film it turns out he hates people, full-stop.

Do you think Wahlberg and the Rock even remember that they made this and were once this good in a movie?

Everyone in this movie is doing solid gold work to a point that is genuinely bonkers. It's such a mean movie and I love it so much.

Lives up to its reputation in cinephile circles as the best Michael Bay movie, making productive use of the auteur's many tensions and ambiguities. He loves America and Americana but hates the losers who believe in it most. He stands with the humble working class, but hates…

A perfect example of smart dumb entertainment. First off, it is completely and utterly fantastic that this is a true story. As sad as it is, it is such a ludicrous tale that the fact that it actually happened only made me love it more. Don't know why that is, it just…

reliably monstrous, unusually restrained. as close to Bay autocritique as you're likely to get. there are no shortcuts.

Action! - Three Auteurs: Bayhem Bay pulls off the breaks a little and becomes a little more focused in this black comedy based on a crazy real-life case, featuring arguably some of the best performances from its cast as Bay exploits the things that they’ve become known…

9/10 One of the funniest films of all time. Love how they make fun of the guys for being dumbasses. One of the only films the rock doesn’t just play himself. This film made me start juicing

Michael Bay sends a clear message to those of us who've been making fun of him: He's been in on the joke the whole time.

This is easily Bay’s best movie, the work of a filmmaker with a cracked sense of humor that he is able to share with the audience.
