Atom User Reviews for Overlord
If you like war movies and supernatural movies then you should love overlord! Definitely recommend it, we loved it.
Some good stuff here and there, but ultimately failed to hold it through as a great ‘zombie’ film.
Nice to see a relatively original horror movie in a historical setting. Very tense.
started strong and interesting but didn't hold up
Needs to be campier
The first 15 minutes display great vfx orchestrated by gripping action and gore that what follows afterwards doesn't really hold up to expectations until the final 35 minutes of the film. Great young and vibrant cast that when looking into their visages one could sense the terrible scope of their situation.
SO DAMN GOOD! Action packed from start to finish and plenty of jump scares.
I love that I had no idea what it was about when I went to see it with my son. Was a blend of a war and horror movie. AWESOME camera work and acting
One of the most action packed movies I've seen all year. Loved every moment of it!
I just knew from watching the previews this movie would be intense, but I wasn’t expecting it to be insanely intense! I loved the movie, it kept me glued to the screen! One of the better movies I’ve seen in awhile! Loved every bit of it!
There were just the right amount of jump scares. Definitely felt like you were in the movie sometimes. The movie wasn’t really centered on the “zombies” it was more centered on getting the mission done and the growth of the main character and supporting characters, which I love cause it’s actually a story rather than just explosions, blood, and violence. Definitely worth watching again!
I thought this movie would be about zombies but was mostly about men blowing their breaths in each others’ faces, spitting around, and basically comparing their size. I only got around twenty minutes of zombies and there were no hordes, no zombies eating people ( well if you’re not counting one person getting dragged and not on screen ), and not really any zombie survival. Eh. This movie was the worst movie I’ve ever watched.
Above average, it didn’t hold back on the gore. Not for everyone, but if you like gory mad scientist movies. It’s pretty good.
Worst WWII ever made.
Very intense beginning setting up the charactors, then gell apart midway and never picked back up. Ending I felt made no sense.
Very good mix of war and horror
Not as good as I hoped
It was OK. The plot left a lot to be desired.
More of an action movie with a jump scene or two thrown in. Not really a horror movie IMO
Low key predictable
it was beyond intense and amazing!
best description of this movie is: " Overlord is a futile exercise in turd-polishing"
Better then i thought!!
Interesting concept. Better than I was expecting, but it could have been more.
The first 40 or so minutes was great. The rest got too outlandish. Characters were built nicely, but I don’t like mixing a historical film with this level of sci-fi. The people next to me got up and left mid-movie.
a zombie film 80/90’s style
Always ready to watch some Naxis get exploded
It started out alright but it totally fell apart about 2/3rds of the way through when the sci-fi stuff kicks in hard.
a must-see perfect for this day and age one of the best films of all time
Lousy premise and way too much time before the mediocre reveal.
Love the story and cgi
I was expecting a romantic comedy
It was jaw-dropping!!
great movie. perfectly made a war movie blend into sci/fi horror genres. told a fantastic story without rushing into things. I recommend Overloard.
Best movie I have seen in years!!!
This surprise gem somehow fulfills the unlikely task of being both the greatest action and horror film of the year!
So this is more of a war movie than zombie but its a great war movie. Really intense from start to finish never really a dull moment. i hope this does well so more movies like this get made.
not a bad movie, but there are better ones to watch.
the movie was about 2 hours long and the plot was so terribly written that I grew bored the first 10 minutes and ending up napping for half the movie. It made no sense from start too finish. actors were way too young to play the parts. I will give them a hand with the appearance of some of the zombie looking creatures.
loved it!
This would make a great video game.
Had my heart racing... racing 🏎
超级好看超级好看😂
Action packed with some scare
Hell of a ride
Iain De Caestecker was amazing!!
Engaging start, a bit slow in the middle, but a great ending. Overall, entertaining.
Good scares, dumb storyline, great action. Not an oscar contender
This is like a mix of Dunkirk & World War Z. All in all a good watch.
More war than horror movie
Metacritic
Zombies. Nazis. Clichés. Insane violence. Overlord delivers a whole lot of much too much.
It is significant that in this vision of revisionist revenge, the ones who prevail against the Nazis are those who would be marginalized and targeted by them — along with their allies. For all its bloody cacophony, Overlord doesn't lose sight of its heroes.
If you took “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” mashed it up with some gonzo grindhouse pics, doused it in shaken-up cans of original Four Loko and then lit it on fire, laughing while it burned, you might begin to approach the craziness that is Overlord.
