Moviegoers are saying
Audiences split sharply on this one: the creepy, grounded family-possession premise and Jessica Chastain's performance earn praise, but reviewers say the execution never delivers. The most common complaint is that the scares were promised but not felt, with one viewer calling the first trailer 'way scarier and better than the actual movie.' Several people who found it 'creepy' still left wishing the plot, pacing, and jump scares had been tighter.

- Larry Daley lovedOther Mommy
This was such a fun horror movie. I don’t really know why some people are hating on it. It breaks the cliche of the kid being the only one able to see the monster/entity in the first 10 minutes of the movie, and in doing so it dials the tension right up from the outset. I genuinely can’t remember…
Rayne dislikedOther Mommynot scary. just bad. It had potential but none of the jump scares were good. it had like 30 times it should’ve ended and the lighting was trash. Every time something new came on I genuinely laughed because what in the world was going on.
Spencer dislikedOther MommyOther Mommy? More like you should go watch any Other Movie! 🤠 I was actually pretty shocked at how bad this was. I was stoked for this based off the first trailer, and it just wasn’t scary in my opinion. Now obviously, reviews are subjective and some are liking this movie, I just genuinely don’t…
- Taylor Winters likedOther Mommy
I know it’s getting bad reviews but I personally liked this. There’s a few truly eerie scenes. I liked the other mommy was not this evil creepy monster. She had more personality than that. Sure, some of the narrative is weak and not perfect but did it need to be? It’s a horror movie that scared me,…
The Night King is "meh" onOther MommyThere were many great things about this film. The first half of the film had so much potential and fell short as the film progressed. 6.5/10
dobz is "meh" onOther Mommytrailer good, movie bad 🍿
- Hellen likedOther Mommy
While the writing could definitely use some improvement, I actually thought Other Mommy was pretty good. It got me once or twice, and I appreciated that the entity wasn’t afraid to show itself early on. I also liked that the parents became aware of what was happening relatively early in the film,…
Iris Elaine Vale lovedOther MommyJust finished watching this at the movie theater with friends. Absolutely loved it. Genuinely had great jump-scares and an amazing storyline/plot. I do wish they explored the “other mommy” storyline a little bit or the background of how she came to be, but genuinely overall 10/10 horror movie!!
mavy is "meh" onOther Mommyshowed up for jessica chastain and if you only do that as well you won’t be overly disappointed the demon was pretty fkn cool and the movies acted well, but the third act falls fairly flat, and it could use some more kills to heighten the feeling of desperation, not all bad tho
