Ordinary People came out in a non-snowy month in 1980. I know this because I walked home after the movie, even though I lived quite a hike away and it was an easy walk (I didn't have to walk carefully as I would on snow or ice). It was nothing like the previous films I…

Amazing how you can watch a movie and love it and then come back to it and wonder how you didn't really hear any of it the first time
Jordan HorowitzNov 2, 2017Mary Tyler Moore shoves two pieces of french toast down a garbage disposal and it is alarming. Like when the mom in BLACK SWAN tries to throw the cake away. Oof, this is so honest, it hurts.

a masterpiece.. most realistic portrayal of depression i’ve ever seen especially in terms of what it’s like when the people around you are as lost in the situation as you are. this movie came to me at the exact right time i needed it
This was an alright film, it was a sorrowful story acted very well. Another story showing how loss can affect people and their lives. It was a great take on this but I have seen so many like this and better ones now. Though I would still recommend it as a good watch

Best Picture Oscar winner 1981 (53rd Academy Awards) My Rating: 9/10 Won 4 Academy awards. Everyone was superb in this. Timothy Hutton deserved all the accolades for his role as Conrad Jarrett. Robert Redford directed a beautifully painful movie
okay, WOW. I've never seen a movie reflect my relationship with, and between, my parents better. Canon in D being the credit song made it hit even harder since I played it a previous year for my freshman year of high school with the orchestra.

Oh this hit HARD. Deeply personal and one of the most honest, realistic portrayals of mental illness I’ve ever seen. 10/10 might not be able to watch again but sooo good
This main character guy doesn’t act well enough to be able to get into the sadness of the plot. Can’t take him seriously. An alright movie.
