I wouldn't want to presume to speak for anyone else, but when I settle down to watch an action film pretty much the last thing I want to see is Enrique Iglesias. Enrique fucking Iglesias. Furthermore, an Enrique Iglesias who looks as though he has never even so much as seen…
🇵🇱 Steve G 🐝Jan 17, 2022Action! - Three Auteurs: El Campamento De Robert Rodriguez There is the possibility that this film will either be a step backward or a step forward based on what you liked in Desperado. Personally, I enjoyed how the story was balanced between Hayek and Banderas and the…
Rafael "Mister Movie" JovineMar 1, 2025I like this better than Desperado, a movie I like verry much. The pacing is better. The acting is better. The stunt work is better. The gore is better. It could use a memorable song or two. And it's so funny. Are you a Mexican or a Mexican't?Come on! That's funny, right?…

"Shot, Chopped and Scored by Robert Rodriguez" has to be one of the coolest credits of all time. Once Upon a Time in Mexico caps off the Mariachi trilogy, and it comes complete with a load of hyped up western elements, explosive action and questionable physics. The Mariachi…
Slig001Feb 17, 2019The only good thing about this movie is Johnny Depp's performance.
NakulSep 18, 2026There are no less than 4,000 characters in this movie and it always feels like Diamond Jim wandered onto the wrong set. Like sooo needlessly confusing yet I stan. I love how Robert Rodriguez basically YOLO’d his way to the top and he deserves it. I can’t wait to tell you…

- Ggrizz is "meh" onOnce Upon a Time in Mexico
It was a little all over the place compared to desperado and el meriachi. Johnny depp being blind but being able to act normal (literally catches something tossed to him) was a little odd but it’s suppose to be a little cheesy. There’s a lot I liked but not as good as the others
Andrew Gooder is "meh" onOnce Upon a Time in MexicoThis movie was a huge step down from the original Desperado. I didn’t like how what they did to Salma Hayek’s character but I liked Banderas and Depp in this film, but the plot line and the cheesy action made this movie a pretty big step back from the first. 6.8/10
Samtaro is "meh" onOnce Upon a Time in MexicoI wish more of this movie was in Spanish - I couldn’t figure out why the switch in language would happen (except for in interactions with Johnny Depp), felt more like a product of the times for when this came out. But I do love the campiness of this movie.
- Jacob Hall likedOnce Upon a Time in Mexico
A nice solid ending to a decent trilogy. Johnny Depp really adds a lot to this. All the villains were kinda weak to me as they didnt have nearly enough screen time, but nonetheless I laughed surprisingly hard at some moments. 5.5/10
The Horrornomicon lovedOnce Upon a Time in MexicoAbsolute brilliance.. watch the other 2 movies first but you can definitely watch this as a standalone .. you’ll just have a better appreciation for what you’re watching

In its wildly overwrought, burrito-Western way, is about as close to a home movie as you're likely to see in a megaplex.
