In 1969, aging TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) struggle to hold on to their footing and friendship in a Hollywood that seems dead set on leaving them behind.
margot robbie: *smiles* me: that was the best acting i've ever seen in my whole life
this was edited like a family guy episode
It's disarming at first to watch a Tarantino movie that's not driven by a quest for revenge or a big score, that's just about some people living their lives. And once I settled into its groove, I never wanted to leave it behind.
so... many... feet...
margot: *dances around. smiles. goes to the cinema.* brad: *takes off his shirt. drives around. gets high.* leo: *forgets his lines. cries. uses a flamethrower.* me: that's cinema.
[unfortunately said something positive about an abuser]
quentin tarantino at some point probably: damn, the tate-labianca murders were so sad 😔 if only brad pitt and his dog had been there
Sitting through this whole thing was no small feet
Still don’t think it’s close to being best picture worthy but it hits dramatically different when you’re 1. living in Los Angeles 2. very drunk
like any other tarantino film. boring, misogynistic, and shallow. sharon tate was bastardised in this film.
listen I love quentin tarantino… reservoir dogs and pulp fiction were INCREDIBLE movies but this movie was just not it for me. I wanted to watch it because of the cast and the acting looked amazing but it was so long, slow, boring and had no plot at all whatsoever
Very good but one thing is disturbing me, it’s the end when there’s the moment when Sharon Tate should be killed but in the movie, it’s not telling like the reality, it changes in favor of the 2 main actors and I find it a shame I would have liked to learn more about her death
Now THIS is a movie. Tarantino doesn’t miss. I found myself thoroughly enjoying it all the way through, but not LOVING it, and then the ending sequence starts and it locked me in even more than I already was. Cliff Booth might have the most aura of any character I’ve ever seen. Loved the ending…
This is the first Tarantino movie I have ever watched. I wasn’t use to his style of directing, but I did enjoy it very much. It was tied together really well at the end. My favorite character: Cliff Booth My favorite moment: Rick Dalton coming out with flamethrower at the end.
movie was quite interesting…lots of great big names in a very big cast. i kept seeing margot as barbie- i guess she’s always had that energy. also what the hell was that ending. i’m sorry but when girl was running around screaming like a madwoman i was cackling. it felt so stupid
Not groundbreaking Tarantino, but it’s a fun trip back through time with real heart and likeable characters. Allow yourself to sink into its world and you’ll be rewarded with good tunes, laugh-out-loud jokes and moments of exhilaration.
Pretty good, very long build up and way longer than the average movie length I’m usually watching but I would rate it 7.5/10
8.3/10 Don’t listen to Haley
