I know this is blasphemous before I say it, but I like this better than the original. There are several reasons, first being that Tom Savini finally got to work on Night of the Living dead since he didn’t get to in 1968 because of Vietnam. Second it has a far superior…

adamboltOct 29, 2018This basically had me with its revision of the Barbara character (hard not to love the bit where she puts on some pants), which pays off perfectly with a spin on the original's indelible closing moments. Savini does a terrific job emulating Romero's camerawork and cutting.…

I don’t think anything compares to George’s earth shattering 1968 monolith (few things do) but this is one of those tapped off cable movies that I’d watch over and over again during the 90’s and it’s been a favorite of mine ever since. I think its a great remake that still…
Ian WestDec 9, 2024as far as horror remakes go, it’s surprisingly competent and honourable, but in saying that, it’s still quite literally the original film without Romero’s direction and the undeniably horrifying black & white photography (so worse).
SethsreviewsJan 29, 2025“They’re coming to get you, Barbara!” Hold on there, Johnny. It won’t be so easy with THIS Barbara. Let me come right out and say it. This 1990 remake is better than the original in almost every way. Better actors, better effects, it’s in color, and the script feels…

For most of my life, this remake has been treated as a disposable oddity, but recently I've been hearing rumblings of a reclamation, so I decided to give it another spin, and I was surprised at how well it works on its own terms. Basically designed by the original's…
Justin DeclouxMar 23, 2025Doesn’t take long for the world to fall apart, does it? I’ve never understood the hate for this movie. The original is one of my favorites films of all time and this not the original, but it’s still a great horror flick. Tom Savini stayed true to the story while also…
JosephKNov 18, 2024"You can talk to me about losing it when you stop screaming at each other like a bunch of two-year-olds." While visiting her mother's grave in a cemetery in rural Pennsylvania with her brother, Barbara Todd (Patricia Tallman) is attacked by a seemingly deranged man who…

Another great remake but I still prefer the original. George A. Romero co-wrote and produced this one, but it was directed by the great Tom Savini (special FX genius). I recommend this one if you don’t like black and white movies.

Remakes rarely hold a candle to their source material but I haven’t seen many that mimic the original nearly beat for beat while somehow being more dull that the twenty two year old film it is based on.
The best remake. a great watch, obviously the original is better but if you don’t want to faff around with black and white this is a fun and faithful remake

Honestly, I liked this one far more than the original B&W offering. Better cast, better effects, just better all the way around.👍🏻👍🏻
A very good remake and doesmt stray from the og. Also liked the tony todd casting.
