This movie is beautiful. The locations are stunning and the story is so beautiful.
So beautiful and heartbreaking. Amazingly directed and acted. Breathtaking cinematography.
it was beautifully done and very true to the book! the actors were phenomenal and portrayed the heartrending emotions that were necessary. the pacing was the only thing holding me back from giving this 5 stars.
Lovely book adaptation
watched it 7 times and every time I cried
It’s always an okay movie. Just slow.
Metacritic
Paired with My Policeman’s agile writing and affecting direction, the undeniable chemistry between Styles and Dawson feels like a shining cherry on top.
My Policeman is an absorbing, resonant, deeply wistful adaptation of the 2012 novel by Bethan Roberts that will probably be best appreciated — stylistically, thematically, romantically — if judged more within the context of its mainly mid-20th century setting than by contemporary expectations.
Michael Grandage’s new film has been coolly received by some, but I found it an interestingly fragile and Rattiganesque melodrama of repression and regret.
