Unfortunately, more bland than broad humor otherwise stands in for Polsky and Herzog’s personalities.
While the lead actors are clearly committed, the movie gives them little to do besides exchange verbal invective.
The film at once wrings this premise for whimsical absurdism and slow-burn suspense, on each side vulgarizing the memory of the Holocaust.
