Moviegoers are saying
Audiences treat Mutiny like a comfort-food Statham run: the stairwell brawls and blood-soaked kills land, but the trafficking plot and clunky exposition draw the same complaints of 'same old plot' and 'predictable.' Most reviewers (about 72%) are happy to take the action and the 95-minute runtime, even if one calls the film 'a step below The Beekeeper.'

The best use of action man Statham in his most recent run of films, Richet utilizes the ship set piece and tight spaces in a really exciting way. But like the last 5 Statham films, horrid script. Hackneyed white savior story where the screenwriters seems to realize halfway…
Joe AAug 19, 2026A Jason Statham movie is the cinematic equivalent of your mom’s cooking: you know exactly what’s coming, and you’ll savor it every single time
AriseMacAug 19, 2026Relatively a bit light on action but still perfectly watchable with some good bits of grue. I enjoyed imagining it taking place off-camera during LOGISTICS.

6.7/10 Overly convoluted plot to support a solid Jason Statham movie. The action scenes weren’t over abundant which made the ones we get special. Die hard mixed with Captain Phillips. Fun way to turn your brain off and enjoy 95 minutes of one of the most consistent typecasts in Hollywood history.
Wagner Freitas likedMutinyAnother day, another Jason Statham side mission to get through, this man doesn't seem to know and understand the concept of insanity, which is as follows, to try the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome... P.S: "Vengeance" really?!?
Ornnio likedMutinyVery run of the mill and delivers on it
- Thomas Joyce is "meh" onMutiny
I think we’ve all come to accept that Statham is gonna cram out a mindless action film every year - usually January! We had that, Shelter - decent flick… but TWO! TWO mindless action flicks in the same year?! Jason, you crazy, crazy guy. Not unwatchable, in fact it was fun, but make no mistake,…
TribianiRamoray likedMutinyRated: 6.8/10 ⭐️ I honestly wanted a classic Statham flick to enjoy with DBox seat rumbles and it definitely delivered. I like this gritty thriller; it brings super solid Statham beatdowns despite a predictable plot. What Worked: • Statham’s commando routine and brutal choreography are super…
Garmelie is "meh" onMutinyThe 36th entry of the JSCU sees our fearless former green beret thrown into yet another wacky, henchman filled all out brawl. To get it out of the way this is an obnoxiously paced entry into this series that never seems to let its foot off of the brake. Without exaggeration at least 60% of this…

3/5 - one day closer to completing the jscu (jason statham cinematic universe) This time vaguely english / vaguely american Jason Statham is on a boat and, you guessed it, overthrowing the captain of said boat. Similar review as most other Jason statham films I’ve rated; you know what you’re…
David Vlastuin likedMutinyIt was just an other Jason Statham movie, just good. Plot: When a billionaire of a ship company is killed in eyes of his own bodyguard, he goes to take revenge. Little to now the ship company is corrupted within… Highlight of the movie was the relation between Cole & the female who was forced to…
Andrew Gooder likedMutinyWhile the plot is very similar to every other action film I’ve seen, it’s still a well choreographed, action packed film that I enjoyed with Statham at the helm. The script was a bit weak and the story predictable, but go in just looking for action and you’ll enjoy it! 8.2/10!!!!

A film of empty characters, overstated chases, and action with little impact, Mutiny features Jason Statham sleepwalking through a tepid nautical revenge saga with few memorable moments.

Watching Mr. Statham fight is slightly entertaining, but there has to be more than that to constitute a movie.
