never settle for a johnny when you can have a ronny performances are incredible, i felt like i was just watching people go about their day to day lives, the writing was so witty, the drama sucked me in and i fell in love with how they told the stories about love, a beautiful film

Cher was fine asf and I cry everytime I watch this movie I love it. I’m angry I didn’t grow up in an Italian family in New York during the 70s like damn😞

That was a fun Oscar film. Cher was great in this so was Nicholas Cage. It was a great story filled with hilarious characters. It was a good watch and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Also the soundtrack of La Boheme hits close to home for me and was a beautiful score the film
italian women, especially in an 80’s time period were raised to marry with no regard for love so it’s nice to see a film made in the 80’s encourage women to hold out for love and passion while still showing how the generational curse mindset almost led her to a loveless marriage

Metacritic
A gem, in that there’s really no other movie like it. A mixture of camp, parody, and full-throated sincerity, Moonstruck ultimately coalesces into a romantic comedy that’s tonally aberrant yet emotionally coherent.
Most of the acting is as real and warm as the characters themselves. And the streets, shops, and living rooms of Brooklyn have never seemed more inviting. [29 Jan 1988]
The broad Italian family humor gets so thick at times that you could cut it with a bread knife.
