I could talk about how this film's structure finally achieves the blissful melancholy that has been at the heart of all of Wes Anderson's films. I could talk about the precision of his framing and tracking shots, and how often he finds visual comedy through a perfect edit,…

I love this movie so much. The aesthetic is magnificent along side with the dialogue. The cast & set design bring this coming-of-age story alive. I can’t believe I haven’t seen this movie in the decade that it’s been out. This might be one of my favorite movies of all time. 10/10
I love Wes Anderson’s films, and I think this one if my favorite of his. The sweet romance between Suzy and Sam, the stunning visuals of New Penzance Island, the wacky misadventures of the 2 star-crossed lovers in hopes of staying with one another. It’s quite entertaining.
probably on the low end of wes andersons catalogue, but still great. there were some suggestive scenes involving children that made me a little uncomfortable. what carried for me was all the movie references. Shawshank, Wicker Man, Titanic, and The Godfather to name a few

8.1 - I enjoyed this, but it didn’t bring out the same emotions from me as other WA projects have. The story meandered at times more than Sam and Suzy’s initial trek, & it felt a bit longer than its run time. Definitely will revisit eventually, but for now middle of WA’s work.

Very enchanting and sucks you in to the vibe it’s going for. I love the storyline for this one it’s so sweet. Personally I got uncomfy when the two kids kinda started making out but I mean when I was that age most were doing worse so it’s innocent enough.
7.3/10 It was honestly pretty wholesome. But that quote “We’re in love. We just want to be together. What’s wrong with that?😭
