4/5 movie, 5/5 audience experience. People were dressing up in suits and dresses and cheering at the opening credits like it was a Marvel movie. To everyone who saw The Rise of Gru at the AMC in Rockaway on opening night with me: y’all rock and I wish you the best in your future.

Absolutely amazing, went in fancy attire, came home a new man, life changing experience.

BEST THEATER EXPERIENCE EVER! Seriously the entire audience was a w. We applauded like 10 times throughout the movie, the bois were dressed up, and the movie was great. Would watch it 1 minionillion times again!

Minions: The Rise of Gru is hardly the best of the Despicable Me movies or spinoffs...But the ridiculousness quotient of The Rise of Gru—directed by Kyle Balda, Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val—is still high enough to spark at least mild rejuvenation. And whether you have one eye or two, six hairs sprouting from your pate or none at all, you could probably use a little of that right now.

Short on plot, long on silliness, the return of the little yellow troublemakers is a fun but fleeting helium high.
